CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL There being a quorum, Mayor Prussing called the special meeting of the Urbana City Council to order at 6:00 p.m. A third item was added to the agenda for the closed session: 3) Pending Litigation Issues, Pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(11). Urbana City Council Minutes: September 16, 2013 (Special) Page 2 of 2 II. CLOSED SESSION: 1) COLLECTIVE BARGAINING ISSUES, PURSUANT TO 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(2); 2) TO CONSIDER THE APPOINTMENT, EMPLOYMENT AND COMPENSATION OF SPECIFIC EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY, PURSUANT TO 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1); and 3) PENDING LITIGATION ISSUES, PURSUANT TO 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(11) Alderman Smyth made a motion to go into closed session for the purposes of discussing: 1) Collective Bargaining Issues, Pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(2); 2) to Consider the Appointment, Employment and Compensation of Specific Employees of the City, Pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1); and 3) Pending Litigation Issues, Pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(11). Alderwoman Marlin seconded. The vote was as follows: Aye: Ammons, Brown, Madigan, Marlin, Roberts, Smyth, Mayor Prussing Nay: None The motion carried by roll call vote (7-aye:0-nay). The Council went into closed session at 6:03 p.m. The Council resumed its meeting in special session at 7:25 p.m. with the following elected officials physically present: Ammons, Brown, Jakobsson, Madigan, Marlin, Roberts, Smyth, Mayor Prussing. [Note: The record also shows elected official Phyllis Clark (City Clerk) physically present.] III. PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATION Carol McKusick addressed the Council regarding zoning ordinance publication and programs for energy efficiency. IV. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, Mayor Prussing declared the special meeting of the Urbana City Council adjourned at 7:35 p.m. ______________________________ Deborah J.
