Foreign Fire Tax Board Meeting

URBANA FIRE DEPARTMENT FOREIGN FIRE TAX BOARD MEETING DATE: May 3, 2022 TIME: 7:30 a.m. PLACE: City Council Chambers MINUTES 1. Call to Order: 0748 Members present: Smith, Lane, Lauss, Prendergast, Thomas 2. Approval of Minutes of Previous Meeting Minutes were read. Lauss motions to approve the minutes with no additions or corrections. Smith seconds. Motion carries. 3. Approval of the Treasurer’s Report: Money Market: $34,777.08, Checking: $25,387.58. Lauss motions to approve, Lane seconds. Motion carries. 4. Public Input: None 5. Old Business a. Kitchen chairs Sta.1: No update. Remove in lieu of other purchases. b. Station 1 bay remodel: Thomas: Pretty much complete, just need to put sloped tops on lockers and install peg boards. c. Monitors: Lauss: Will work on a grant for the monitors. Remove from agenda. d. Station 3 trees: Lauss: Contacted UPW to determine what it will take to remove the trees, will be $10-15K to remove and they do not have the funds. Chief will ask if we can remove them ourselves. e. Mattresses and mattress covers: Lane: Mattresses and mattress covers need to be replaced. Thomas has a sample memory foam mattress in the 251 LT bunk. Thomas has prices on 3 options. Will wait until next meeting. f. Lockers and nightstand for new LT’s bunk: Will wait until next meeting. g. Station 1 lockers: Smith motions to increase budget to 32,000. Lane seconds. Motion carries. h. Washer and dryer project for station 1: Lane got a second bid that was higher than the initial. Will wait for next meeting. Gas fire pit for station 1: No motion was made. b. Hotsey and foam cannon for station 1: Lane proposed purchasing a Hotsey and foam cannon for station 1. Discussion ensued. Lane motions to spend up to $5000 on at least one power washer, accessories, and foam cannon. Smith seconds. Motion carries. 7. For the Good of the Order a. Orr requested to purchase ladder carabiners for everyone. Tabled for more information. 8.
