1. CALL TO ORDER, ROLL CALL AND DECLARATION OF QUORUM
The Urbana Market at the Square Advisory Board was called to order at 5:32 pm by Wu.
The roll call was taken, and a quorum was declared present.
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
The minutes of the December 18, 2019 meeting were reviewed by the Advisory Board.
With no changes proposed, O’Brien made a motion to approve minutes. Schutte seconded
the motion. All Advisory Board members present were in favor of approval, and the
minutes were unanimously approved as presented.
3. ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA
There were none.

4. PUBLIC INPUT
Boys read into record submitted public input from Kim Campbell of Campbell Apiaries.
Campbell submitted suggestions regarding the running of the 2020 Market at the Square
during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Boys read into record submitted public input from a collection of farms including Blue
Moon Farm, Prairie Fruits Farm and Creamery, Moore Family Farms, and Sola Gratia
Farm. This collection of farms submitted their concerns regarding the running of the 2020
Market at the Square during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lorien Carsey, who farms with Blue Moon, spoke on behalf of Moore Family Farms
regarding their concerns over curbside pick-up only for the 2020 Urbana’s Market at the
Square.
Maggie Taylor, Delight Flower Farm, their farmers market sales are impulse mostly, and
even though they are doing will with online sales and delivery, they wish to be able to do
more than just a curb-side pick-up for the 2020 Urbana’s Market at the Square.
5. PRESENTATIONS
a. Quarterly Staff Report – Bryan Heaton, Market Coordinator
Heaton presented the quarterly Staff Report, including updates on the SNAP program.
Jacquelyn Evers (The Land Connection) and Urbana’s Market at the Square, along with
other area markets jointly applied to The United Way for a Community Impact Grant –
which would enable a universal SNAP coupon to be used at any of the applying area
markets. Heaton also presented an update on where staff was in the process of preparing
for the 2020 Urbana’s Market at the Square in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
b. 2020 Market Promotions and Advertising
Heaton presented the 2020 Market Promotions and Advertising Plan. It was noted by
Heaton that due to the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 Pandemic, there would be
amendments to this plan as time progressed.
c. Wild Alaskan Salmon and Seafood – Josh Hermes Sales/Operations Manager
Hermes was unable to join the meeting. Heaton presented information on Wild Alaskan
Salmon and Seafood, and Wu led a discussion with the Board concerning the admittance
of seafood vendors to the Market.

d. Subcommittee Formation Discussion (Schutte)
Schutte proposed to table this discussion for the time being. With no objection, the board
did not discuss.
6. NEW BUSINESS
O’Brien suggested that careful consideration and vetting be used in the market guidelines
concerning the admittance of CBD vendors who, while being located in Illinois, source
their product from outside the state.
7. ADJOURNMENT
Schutte motioned that the meeting be adjourned and O’Brien seconded. With no further
business and no objection, Wu declared the meeting adjourned at 6:22 P.M.

Market Coordinator Bryan Heaton will give an update on match-funding for SNAP
Staff will provide an update on planning for the 2020 Market in conjunction with public
health guidelines.

Market Coordinator Bryan Heaton will present on plans for advertising, promotions, and
outreach at the Market for the coming season.
c. Wild Alaskan Salmon and Seafood
Josh Hermes Sales/Operations Manager for Wild Alaskan Salmon and Seafood will
present on behalf of the company seeking admittance to the Market.
