Sustainability Advisory Commission Meeting

APPROVED CITY OF URBANA, ILLINOIS SUSTAINABILITY ADVISORY COMMISSION Council Chambers, Urbana City Building Tuesday, December 3, 2019 Commissioners Present: Stacy Gloss, Dustin Allred, Megan McGinty Commissioners Absent: Tomas Delgado, Andrew Stumpf, Morgan White, Maddy Garbacz, Tesfaye Wolde-Medhin Staff Present: Scott Tess, Amanda Plotner Call to Order, Roll Call, and Declaration of Quorum Chairperson Stacy Gloss called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. Amanda Plotner called the roll and a quorum was not met. The meeting was to proceed without any actions taken. Approval of Minutes Minutes could not be approved without a quorum present. Changes to the Agenda No changes could be made to the agenda as a quorum was not present. Public Input There was no public input Staff Report Scott Tess gave an update that the City’s solar developer, Sunpower, being awarded a second low- income community solar incentive, Staff’s support of the next Youth Sustainability Summit scheduled for 2020, and continuing public engagement. Leaf collection began on November 4th and was scheduled through December 6th. November 16th marked the 10th annual America Recycles Day events held by U-Cycle and the Urbana Park District. The next meeting is scheduled for February 4 at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers at the Urbana City Building. Grant Management Presentation Sheila Dodd, Grants Manager for the City, several grant-funding programs that the City has including the Urbana Home Consortium Home Program and the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. Commission members present participated in a question and answer with Ms. Dodd for clarifications on certain aspects of the programs.
