Clark, Town Clerk CUNNINGHAM TOWNSHIP BOARD SPECIAL MEETING Monday, November 23, 2015 The Cunningham Township Board met in Regular session Monday, November 23, 2015 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Urbana City Building, 400 S. Vine Street, Urbana, Illinois. ELECTED OFFICIALS PHYSICALLY PRESENT: Chair: Laurel Lunt Prussing Trustees: Aaron Ammons; Bill Brown; Eric Jakobsson; Michael P. Madigan; Diane Marlin; Dennis Roberts; Charles Smyth Town Clerk: Phyllis Clark Supervisor: Michelle Mayol Assessor: Dan Stebbins ELECTED OFFICIALS PRESENT VIA TELECONFERENCE: ELECTED OFFICIALS ABSENT: None OTHERS PRESENT: Frederic M. Grosser, Members of the Media I. ROLL CALL Chair Prussing called the meeting of the Cunningham Township Board to order at 7:00 p.m. II. PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS Chair Prussing addressed the Town Board and the reason for this meeting. She stated the tasked was to approve an estimated tax levy for the Town Fund and the General Assistance Fund, also the outlook for the next five years; how much fund balance is reasonable for each fund and the impact of tax caps if chosen to reduce the levies. Discussion ensued. Township supervisor Michelle Mayol and Town Board attorney Fred Grosser addressed the board’s questions and concerns. III. ORDINANCE NO. T-2015-11-003: An Ordinance levying taxes for all Town purposes for the Town of Cunningham, Champaign County, Illinois, for the tax year 2015, collectible in 2016. Chair Prussing introduced Ordinance No. T-2015-11-003 as forwarded from the previous Township Board meeting. Trustee Charles Smyth made a motion to send this item to the December 7, 2015 meeting for final vote. Trustee Ammons seconded. Motion carried by voice vote. IV. RESOLUTION NO. T-2015-11-005R: A Resolution determining the amounts of money necessary to be raised by the tax levy for the tax year 2015, collectible in 2016. Cunningham Township Board Special Meeting Minutes: Monday, November 23, 2015 Page 2 of 2 Trustee Diane Marlin made a motion to approve Resolution T-2015-11- 005R as forwarded. Trustee Dennis Roberts seconded. Motion carried by voice vote. V. NEW BUSINESS 1. RESOLUTION NO. T-2015-11-006R: Resolution Authorizing Request to Intervene in Formal Hearing with the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board Township Assessor Dan Stebbins presented Resolution No. T-2015-11- 005R. Discussion ensued. After discussion Trustee Jakobsson made a motion to approve Resolution No. T-2015-11-005R as presented. Trustee Aaron Ammons seconded. Motion carried voice vote. VI. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Cunningham Town Board, Chair Prussing declared the meeting adjourned at 7:51 p.m. Phyllis D.
