Meeting Minutes
Monday, February 14th, 2022
The Cunningham Township Board met in regular session Monday, February 14th, 2022 at 6:00pm. Due to
the Governor and Mayoral Emergency Declarations, this meeting was conducted by virtual attendance
via Zoom.
ELECTED OFFICIALS PHYSICALLY PRESENT:

ELECTED OFFICIALS PRESENT VIA TELECONFERENCE:
Trustees: Maryalice Wu, Chris Evans, Jaya Kolisetty, Chaundra Bishop, Grace Wilken, James Quisenberry
Supervisor: Danielle Chynoweth
Assessor: None
ELECTED OFFICIALS ABSENT: Trustee Shirese Hursey; Assessor Wayne Williams

I. ROLL CALL
With a quorum virtually present, Chair Marlin called the meeting of the Cunningham Township
Board to order at 6:00pm.
II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
January 10th, 2022 regular meeting
Motion by Trustee Bishop to approve and seconded by Trustee Wu.
Vote by roll call:
AYE: Wu, Evans, Kolisetty, Bishop, Wilken, Quisenberry
NAY: None

V. COMMITTEE TO VERIFY BILLS

b. General Assistance Fund
Presented by Supervisor Danielle Chynoweth. Supervisor detailed expenses of $58,304.61 from the
Town Fund, $112,705.67 in the General Assistance Fund, and a combined total of $175,967.33 in
expenditures.
Questions and discussion ensued.
Motion to approve by Trustee Wu and seconded by Trustee Kolisetty.

VI. REPORTS OF OFFICERS
Supervisor Chynoweth shared an infographic of 2021 impacts detailing the number clients served by
the various Township programs. 10,705 people served in total. Chynoweth reviewed dollar amounts
and total clients who received benefits from each program.
Chynoweth then moved on to present the supervisors memo and detailed the figures and clients
served in the previous month to date. Announced new employment and education track case
manager and program restructuring. Noted an increase in rental assistance applications as the
county has stopped taking applications for their rental assistance program. Reviewed updated for
each of the programs. Reminded the public about the Angel Donor Fund.

VIII. NEW BUSINESS
a. Resolution No. T-2022-02-002R: A Resolution Authorizing the Supervisor to Sign an Agreement
with Champaign County Health Care Consumers for Health Care Assistance and Navigation Services
Presented by Supervisor Chenowyth and Claudia Lennhoff executive director of Champaign County
Health Care Consumers. Cunningham Township has been community partners with CCHCC for years
to assist clients with accessing healthcare resources. Township is asking to increase financial
support to CCHCC to meet growing needs of the clients.
Questions and discussion ensued.
Motion to approve as corrected (Dates changed to reflect calendar year 2022) by Trustee Bishop
and seconded by Trustee Evans.

b. Resolution No. T-2022-02-003R: A Resolution Authorizing the Supervisor to Sign an Agreement
with Watts Copy Systems, Inc. for Color Printer and Copy Services
Presented by Supervisor Chenowyth. Previous copy system was on a 5 year contract and has now
expired. Township went out to bid and found a deal that’s a better fit and more cost effective.
Motion to approve by Trustee Wu and seconded by Trustee Quisenberry.

c. Resolution No. T-2022-02-004R: A Resolution in Support of HB 2775 Barring Source of Income
Discrimination and Protecting Rental Assistance Recipients
Presented by Supervisor Chenowyth. This resolution is asking for council support in cosigning with
other legislative bodies in support of House Bill 2775 that prohibits source of income discrimination
in order to protect rental assistance recipients. This is something that the Urbana City Code already
provides for but will extend that protection statewide.
Motion to approve by Trustee Wilken and seconded by Trustee Quisenberry.

IX. ADJOURNMENT
With no further business to come before the Township Board, Chair Marlin declared the meeting
