Urbana Free Library Board Meeting

The Urbana Free Library Board of Trustees Minutes of a Special Meeting Held on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 Present: Scott Bennett, Bill Brown, Anh Ha Ho, Anna Merritt, Mark Netter, Beth Scheid, Chris Scherer, and Jane Williams Absent: Mary Ellen Farrell Staff present: Becky Brown, Mary Towner Also present: Many people from the public The Urbana Free Library Board of Trustees met in the Satterthwaite Conference Room of The Urbana Free Library on August 27, 2013. The special meeting was called to order by the president, Chris Scherer, at 6:30 p.m. Mark Netter made a statement explaining that there are deep seated issues to be addressed. He apologized for the location of the meeting, and explained that the main purpose of the meeting was to allow for a closed session for a meeting with the Board’s attorney. A) Public comment: The following people spoke during public comment: Al Kagan, Carol Tilley, J.P. Goguen, Kate McDowell, Aimee Rickman, Ashley Price, and Stuart Levy. B) Closed session: At 6:49 p.m., it was moved by Bill Brown, seconded by Jane Williams, and approved by roll call vote that the Board move into closed session for the purpose of discussing personnel matters. At 8:35 p.m., it was moved by Beth Scheid, seconded by Bill Brown, and approved by roll call vote that the Board move into open session. C) Adjournment At 8:36p.m., it was move by Beth Scheid, seconded by Anna Merritt, and approved unanimously that the meeting be adjourned.
