Notice is now given of the regular meeting of the Building and Standards Commission of the City of Uvalde,
Texas to be held March 11, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 2nd floor of the City Hall, 101
East Main Street, Uvalde, Texas for the following purpose:
I. Call Meeting to Order.
II. Approval of Minutes
Approval of minutes of February 11, 2026.

Case File 24-15 B&S
(1) Open a public hearing to discuss the dilapidated/substandard structures belonging to Maria Del Carmen
Jimenez and G & D Mills LLC.The property is located at 226 Nicolas Street, NCB 128, Baylor Addition
Lot 2, Uvalde, TX 78801, as described in Uvalde Municipal Code, Title 15, Building and Construction,
Chapter 15.76, Property Maintenance Code Adopted, Chapter 3, General Requirements, and the Texas
Constitution and Statues, Health and Safety Code, Chapter 342. Local Regulation of Sanitation, Uvalde
Municipal Code of the City of Uvalde, Texas. The structure has fallen into disrepair and must be replaced,
remodeled, or demolished.
A. A brief report from the Building Official concerning this location.
B. Citizens’ comments.
C. Close public hearing.
D. Reconvene meeting for discussion and decision on the application.
IV.
Update on other cases.
V. ADJOURNMENT
City Hall Municipal Building is wheelchair accessible with access and special parking available on the
West side of the building. The Council Chamber is accessible by elevator to the second floor.
Requests for special services must be received forty-eight (48) hours before the meeting time by
calling City Hall (830) 278-3315.

The Building and Standards Commission of the City of Uvalde was called to order on
Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 6:00 PM, in the City Hall Council Chambers, with the
following members present:
COMMISSION Jesse Aguirre, Jon Anfinsen, Gilberto Gonzalez, Javier Magana, Joe L.
PRESENT: Strickland, John Yeackle, Richard Lara, Rafael Arias, and Monica Lara

1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER.
1.A. The Building and Standards meeting of February 11, 2026 was called to order
by Chairman Jesse Aguirre at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 2nd floor of
City Hall, 101 E. Main St., Uvalde, Texas.
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
2.A. Approval of minutes from January 23, 2026.
Gilbert Gonzalez motioned to approve the minutes, seconded by Joe Strickland. Motion
carried 6-0.
3. PUBLIC HEARING
3.A. A. Case File 26-01 B&S
Open a public hearing to discuss the dilapidated/substandard structures
belonging to Maria Del Carmen Jimenez and G & D Mills LLC. The property

B. Citizens’ comments. Public hearing was opened at 6:02 p.m.
Ms. Juliana Sauceda was able to join the meeting via cell phone. Ms.
Sauceda mentioned that originally she planned to remodel the structure,

but she was unaware the the 432 square foot house was in such a state
of deterioration. After she received the summary from the Building
Official, she now wants to voluntarily demolish the structure. She also let
the board members know that her deceased mother did not leave a will or
deed, so she is currently talking to an attorney to have the property
probated to her. She is one of six siblings.
C. Close public hearing. Public hearing was closed at 6:06 p.m.
D. Reconvene meeting for discussion and decision on the application.
The chairman, Jesse Aguirre, recommended to have the City go out for
bids prior to the next Building and Standards meeting while Ms. Sauceda
works on getting the property probated. There was discussion among the
board members and they agreed to give an extension of 30 days. Ms.
Sauceda agreed with the recommendation. Motion was made by Gilbert
Gonzales seconded by Jon Anfinsen to give a 30 day extension. Motion
carried 6-0.
3.B. B. Update and discussion of past cases and potential future cases.
4. ADJOURNMENT
4.A. A motion to adjourn was made by Jon Anfinsen and seconded by Joe
Strickland. Motion carried 6-0. The meeting adjourned at 6:07 p.m.
