Main St. Uvalde,TX 78801 The Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting of the City of Uvalde was called to order on Tuesday April 7, 2020 at 6:00P.M., in the City Hall-Council Chambers, with the following members present: COMMISSIONERS Matthew Visel-Chair (Present in the building) PRESENT: Gilbert Limones (Present in the building) Lydia Moss (Present via phone) Joe Suarez (Present via phone) Jimmie Raines (Present via phone) COMMISSIONERS Rosemberg Risa, III ABSENT: Walter Tidwell Jose Saucedo-Alternate STAFF PRESENT: Jovita Maldonado-Code Enforcement Officer Sorayda A. Sanchez-City Secretary 1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 2.A. Approval of the minutes of the March 3, 2020 meeting. Motion to approve minutes made by Commissioner Joe Suarez. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jimmie Raines. Motion carried 5-0. 3. PUBLIC HEARING AND ZONING MATTERS Citizens who would like to come before the board are to limit their presentations to no more than three (3) minutes. 4. OPEN PUBLIC HEARING 4.A. Case File # 6-20PZ Open a public hearing to consider and act on the request of Marcella Gonzales and Pete Gonzales, applicants, to subdivide 2 lots into 3 lots. This is an R3 zone and all resulting lots will conform to zoning regulations. The properties are located at 201 S. Wood St. and 233 E. Garden St., NCB 138, Old Town Subdivision, Block 13, Lots 302 and 294, City of Uvalde, Uvalde County Texas. Page 1 3 of 2 4  Code Enforcement Officer Jovita Maldonado explained to commissioners that this is a simple subdivision request. The lots are located on 201 S. Wood Street and 233 E. Garden Street. Staff recommends approval. Public hearing opened at 6:07PM Public hearing closed at 6:08PM Motion to approve Case File 6-20PZ made by Commissioner Gilbert Limones. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jimmie Raines. Motion carried 5-0. 4.B. Case File # 7-20PZ Open a public hearing to consider and act on the request of Royce Butler, applicant, for a special use permit to use the structure in the back of the property as an accessory dwelling.The property is located at 1907 Garner Field Rd.,NCB 216, JJ Guerra Subdivision, .74 acres, City of Uvalde, Uvalde County Texas. Code Enforcement Officer Jovita Maldonado explained to commissioners that this property is located at 1907 Garner Field Road. Property owner would like to use the structure as an accessory dwelling for son. The property is zoned residential 1 (R1) and meets all requirements. Staff recommends approval. Public hearing opened at 6:10PM Public hearing closed at 6:11PM Motion to approve Case File 7-20PZ made by Commissioner Gilbert Limones. Motion seconded by Commissioner Joe Suarez. Motion carried 5-0. 4.C. Case File 8-20PZ Open a public hearing to consider and act on adoption of the corrected zoning map for the City of Uvalde. City Secretary Sorayda A. Sanchez explained to commissioners that the zoning map has been updated based on the council minutes; however Susan Anderson, Director of Planning and Development has discovered a couple more mistakes after last months meeting. Changes to specific areas of the map can be made at a later meeting.
