CITY OF VERONA MINUTES FINANCE COMMITTEE SEPTEMBER 14, 2015 VERONA CITY HALL 1. The meeting was called to order by Elizabeth Doyle at 6:47 p.m. 2 Roll Call: William “Mac” McGilvray (6:50 p.m.), Elizabeth Doyle, Jack Linder. Also present: Jon Hochkammer, Mayor; Brad Stiner, Alderperson; Bill Burns, City Administrator. 3. Approval of the 8/25/2015 Finance Committee Minutes: Motion by Linder, seconded by Doyle, to approve the 8/25/2015 Finance Committee minutes. Motion carried 2-0 with Linder and Doyle voting “aye”. 4. Payment of Bills: Motion by Linder, seconded by Doyle, to approve the payment of bills in the amount of $1,368,103.78. Motion carried 3-0. 5. Out-of-Office Checks: Motion by Linder, seconded by Doyle, to approve the payment of out-of-office checks in the amount of $4,049.99. Motion carried 3-0. 6. Resolution R-15-047 Requesting Exemption from the County Library Tax Mr. Burns explained that annual the City needs to pass a resolution requesting an exemption from the Dane County Library Tax since Verona spends sufficient funds on its library. For the 2016 budget the required appropriation amount is $643,291. The 2015 approved budget includes a total tax levy for the library of $1,153,789 including $685,745 for operations and $468,044 for debt service on the facility. Motion by Doyle, seconded by McGilvray, to recommend that the Council approve Resolution R-15-047. Motion carried 3-0. 7.
