FINANCE COMMITTEE
JUNE 13, 2016
VERONA CITY HALL
1. The meeting was called to order by William “Mac” McGilvray at 6:30 p.m.
2 Roll Call: William “Mac” McGilvray, Jack Linder. Absent (excused): Elizabeth Doyle.
Also present: Jon Hochkammer, Mayor; Scott Stewart, Alderperson; Brad Stiner,
Alderperson; Rebecca Kerns, Kendall McWilliams and Catherine Kealy, United Vaccines;
and Cindy Engelke, Finance Director.
3. Approval of the 5/23/2016 Finance Committee Minutes: Motion by McGilvray, seconded
by Linder, to approve the 5/23/2016 Finance Committee minutes. Motion carried 2-0.
4. Payment of Bills: Motion by McGilvray, seconded by Linder, to approve the payment of
bills in the amount of $552,364.79. Motion carried 2-0.
5. Out of Office Checks: Motion by Linder, seconded by McGilvray, to approve the out-of-
office checks in the amount of $4,202.25. Motion carried 2-0.
6. Resolution No. R-16-030 Approving a First Amendment to Development Agreement with
United Vaccines: Rebecca Kerns from United Vaccines gave an update regarding the
timeline for the construction of the biopharmaceutical facility. Rebecca stated that the
original timeline as it turned out was too aggressive. The requested amendment to the
development agreement to extend the original June 30, 2016 85% completion date to
December 1, 2016 is primarily a result of needing additional time for HVAC design and
specifications. With the HVAC design now complete, the facility construction is on
schedule to be 85% complete no later than December 1, 2016.
Motion by McGilvray, seconded by Linder, to recommend approval of Resolution No. R-16-
030 Approving a First Amendment to Development Agreement with United Vaccines.
Motion carried 2-0.
7. Adjournment: Motion by McGilvray, seconded by Linder, to adjourn the Finance
Committee Meeting at 6:42 p.m. Motion carried 2-0.

The Finance Committee may convene in closed session as authorized by Section

competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session. The Finance Committee may
reconvene in open session and discuss and take action on the subject matter discussed
in closed session.
