City of Verona Finance Committee City Hall – 111 Lincoln Street Verona, WI 53593-1520 MINUTES FINANCE COMMITTEE January 22, 2018 The meeting was called to order by Alder Doyle at 6:15 p.m. in Conference Room D110 Roll Call: Alder Elizabeth Doyle and Alder Jack Linder were present. Also present: City Administrator Jeff Mikorski, Finance Director Brian Lamers and Matt Slowinski and Ellen Roberts from DANA Investments Discussion and Possible Action regarding approval of January 8, 2018 Finance Committee minutes: Motion by Linder, seconded by Doyle to approve the January 8, 2018 Finance Committee minutes with no amendments. Motion carried 2-0. Presentation by DANA Investment Advisors regarding a portion of the City’s Investments. Matt Slowinski discussed the City’s portfolio, market comparisons, and economic updates. There was discussion about the difference from the holder of the securities which is Charles Schwab compared to what DANA has recorded. This is due to Charles Schwab’s reporting capabilities. Slowinski went through the differences and the reconciliation between them. Discussion and Possible Action Regarding the City Investment Report for December 2017: Lamers went through the report and noted nothing unusual. Discussion and Possible Action regarding the payment of bills: Motion by Doyle, seconded by Linder to approve the payment of bills totaling $13,266,450.80. Motion carried 2-0.
