City of Verona Finance Committee City Hall – 111 Lincoln Street Verona, WI 53593-1520 MINUTES FINANCE COMMITTEE December 10, 2018 The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Chad Kemp at 7:30 p.m. in Conference Room D110 Roll Call: Chairperson Chad Kemp and Alder Kate Cronin, Alder Christine Posey was going to be late. Also present: City Administrator Jeff Mikorski, Finance Director Brian Lamers and Planning Director Adam Sayre. Discussion and Possible Action regarding approval of November 26, 2018 Finance Committee minutes: Motion was made by Cronin, seconded by Kemp to approve the November 26, 2018 Finance Committee minutes with no changes noted. Motion carried 2-0. Discussion and Possible Action regarding recommendation of Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Comprehensive Rewrite of the City’s Zoning and Sign Ordinance: Sayre stated that the rewrite of the City’s zoning and sign ordinance was included in the 2019 budget for $50,000. The draft RFP went to Planning Commission for review and changes. There will be a 2 tier scoring based on qualifications and cost. The cost will be sealed and the first round of scoring will be based on qualifications. This will put more weight on qualifications. Sayre stated that during budget it was discussed that the $50,000 may not cover the contract and the remaining would need to be budgeted in 2020. Motion was made by Kemp, seconded by Cronin to recommend the request for proposal for the comprehensive rewrite of the city’s zoning and sign ordinance. Motion carried 3-0. Alder Posey present at 7:38 p.m. Discussion and Possible Action regarding the payment of bills: Motion was made by Kemp, seconded by Posey to approve the payment of bills totaling $356,463.54. Motion carried 3-0. Adjournment: Motion was made by Kemp, seconded by Posey, to adjourn the Finance Committee Meeting at 7:58 p.m. Motion carried 3-0.
