City of Verona Finance Committee City Hall – 111 Lincoln Street Verona, WI 53593-1520 MINUTES FINANCE COMMITTEE April 22, 2019 The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Chad Kemp at 6:30 p.m. in Conference Room D110 Roll Call: Chairperson Chad Kemp, Alder Kate Cronin and Alder Christine Posey were present Also present: Interim City Administrator Adam Sayre and Finance Director Brian Lamers Public Comment: None Discussion and Possible Action regarding approval of April 8, 2019 Finance Committee minutes: Motion was made by Kemp, seconded by Cronin to approve the April 8, 2019 Finance Committee minutes with no changes noted. Motion carried 3-0. Discussion and Possible Action regarding the City Investment Report for March 2019: Lamers stated there was nothing worth noting. Discussion and Possible Action regarding Proposal for a 3-Year Contract with Baker Tilly LLP for Auditing Services: Lamers stated that Baker Tilly LLP has been the auditing firm for the City for years and there have been no issues so far with the services provided. They know the general City, the utilities and the TIF districts. The current auditors also know the history of the City. Lamers stated he checked with Public Works Director Theran Jacobson and he didn’t have any issues with Baker Tilly LLP as the utility audit. Lamers stated the 2019 cost remains the same as the 2018 audit and there were increases for the following 2 years. Motion was made by Kemp, seconded by Posey to recommend to City Council the proposal for a 3-year contract with Baker Tilly LLP for Auditing Services in the amounts of $48,800 for 2019, $50,025for 2020 and $51,275 for 2021. Motion carried 3-0. Discussion and Possible Action regarding the payment of bills: Motion was made by Kemp, seconded by Posey to approve the payment of bills totaling $674,094.18. Motion carried 3-0. Adjournment: Motion was made by Cronin, seconded by Posey, to adjourn the Finance Committee Meeting at 6:40 p.m. Motion carried 3-0.
