CITY OF VERONA MINUTES PARK, RECREATION & FORESTRY COMMISSION WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2022 1. The meeting was called to order by Tyler Powers at 5:30 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Present: Tyler Powers, Phil Hoechst, Hether Reekie. Also present: Casey Dudley, Recreation Director, Dan Schmitt of MSA. Absent: Paul Schmidt, Mark Giesfeldt. 3. No public comments were made. Motion made by Reekie, seconded by Hoechst, to close public comment. Motion carried 3 - 0. 4. Motion made by Hoechst, seconded by Powers, to approve the minutes of the August 17, 2022 meeting of the Park, Recreation, and Forestry Commission. Motion carried 3 - 0. 5. Dan Schmitt presented updated draft of the CORP to the board. The board was happy with the plan as presented with hopes that the online version can be pared down a bit with the appendices available upon request. Motion made by Hoechst, seconded by Powers, to approve the CORP. Motion carried 3 – 0. 6. Dudley presented an offer from the Verona Ice Arena to sell the outdoor boards to the city. They are no longer needed there as they are preparing to construct the additional indoor sheet of ice. Dudley indicated that they could use them at the outdoor rink at Harriet Park. All the members were hesitant spend anymore city funds for the hockey boards. The board was willing to take them as a donation if they could not sell them themselves. Motion made by Powers, seconded by Hoechst, to not purchase the boards and plan to take them if they are donated. Motion carried 3 – 0. 7. Moved by Reekie, seconded by Hoechst, to adjourn.
