PERSONNEL COMMITTEE
OCTOBER 14, 2013
VERONA CITY HALL
1. The meeting was called to order by Elizabeth Doyle at 4:30 p.m.
2. Roll Call: Mike Bare, Elizabeth Doyle, Dale Yurs. Also present: Bill Burns, City
Administrator; Bernie Coughlin, Police Chief.
3. Approval of Minutes from the April 8, 2013 Personnel Committee Meeting: Motion by
Yurs, seconded by Bare, to approve the minutes from the April 8, 2013 Personnel
Committee meeting. Motion carried 3-0.
4. Discussion of a Negotiating Strategy for a Collective Bargaining Agreement with the
Wisconsin Professional Police Association (WPPA) Police Department Unit: Motion by
Doyle, seconded by Yurs, to convene in closed session as authorized by Section 19.85 (1)(e)
of the Wisconsin Statutes for the purpose of deliberating or negotiating the purchase of
public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public
business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session. Voting Aye:
Bare, Doyle, Yurs. Voting No: None.
The Committee returned to open session and no action was taken on the closed session item.
5. Adjournment: Motion by Bare, seconded by Yurs, to adjourn the meeting at 5:15 p.m.
Motion carried 3-0.
