MINUTES – PERSONNEL COMMITTEE DATE: September 5, 2023 LOCATION: Verona City Hall – Large Conference Room 111 Lincoln St., Verona, Wis. 1) Chairperson Chad Kemp called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. 2) Roll call – present were: Chairperson Chad Kemp, Alderperson Beth Tucker-Long and Alderperson Phil Hoechst. Also present was Mayor Luke Diaz, Alderperson Evan Touchett, Human Resources Coordinator Mitch Weckerly, and City Administrator Jamie Aulik. 3) There was no public comment. 4) Tucker-Long moved, Hoechst seconded approving the minutes of the July 5, 2023 Personnel Committee meeting. The motion passed unanimously. 5) Tucker-Long moved, Hoechst seconded convening into closed session for the purpose of interviewing candidates for the position of Public Works Director as authorized by Section 19.85(c) of the Wisconsin Statutes to consider employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee subject to the jurisdiction or authority of the City of Verona. Voting aye were Kemp, Tucker-Long and Hoechst. The motion passed unanimously and the committee convened into closed session at 7:07 p.m. 6) Tucker-Long moved, Hoechst seconded reconvening into open session. Voting aye were Kemp, Tucker-Long and Hoechst. The motion passed unanimously and the committee convened into open session at 8:17 p.m. 7) Tucker-Long moved, Hoechst seconded adjournment.
