CITY OF VERONA POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION VIRTUAL MEETING WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2020 AT 5:00 PM VERONA FIRE DEPARTMENT 101 LINCOLN STREET MINUTES 1. Call to Order by Delora Newton at 5:06 pm. 2. Roll call: Delora Newton, Louis Eifert and Melissa Helgesen. Cole Leystra Joined in closed session. Also present: Verona Fire Chief Dan Machotka. 3. Approval of Minutes: Moved by Eifert, second by Newton to approve the minutes of the October 14, 2020 minutes of the Verona Police and Fire Commission. Motion Carried: 3-0. 4. Moved by Newton, seconded by Helgesen to adjourn to closed session pursuant to WI State Statute 19.85 (1) (c) and (e) for the purpose of conducting virtual interviews of Candidates for the open position of Battalion Chief of Operations for the Verona Fire Department at 5:10 pm. Leystra did not participate in the scoring process of the candidates. Motion Carried: 3-0. 5. Moved by Newton, seconded by Leystra to return to open session for discussion and possible action regarding the closed session at 9:16pm. Motion Carried: 4-0. 6. Moved by Newton, seconded by Eifert to certify six candidates (45273071, 18573719, 43627439, 21849468, 18901471, 24456865) to proceed for further consideration for the position of Battalion Chief of Operations for the Verona Fire Department.
