CITY OF VERONA PUBLIC SAFETY AND WELFARE COMMITTEE FEBRUARY 27, 2012 VERONA CITY HALL MINUTES 1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Scott Manley at 5:35 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Members Present: Scott Manley, and Evan Touchett. Others Present: Bill Burns, City Administrator; Bernie Coughlin, Police Chief; and Kami Lynch, City Clerk. Jeremy Charles was absent and excused. 3. Approval of Minutes. Motion by Touchett, seconded by Manley to approve the minutes of the January 9, 2012 meeting. Motion carried 2/0. 4. Discussion and possible action regarding a request for parking restrictions on Half Mile Road at West Verona Avenue. After much discussion and comment from a local business owner who owns the property located across W. Verona Ave. the committee came to the conclusion that the portion on Half Mile Rd. located closest to W. Verona Ave. would have parking restricted by painting the curb. The remainder of the area on Half Mile Rd. would not have further parking restrictions imposed. 5. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Temporary Class B Fermented Malt Beverage License for Ice Inc., located at 103 Lincoln Street, Adult Hockey Tournament, April 7 & 8, 2012. Motion by Touchett, seconded by Manley to recommend that the Common Council approve the license. Motion Carried 2/0. 6. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Temporary Class B Fermented Malt Beverage License for Ice Inc., located at 103 Lincoln Street, Adult Hockey Tournament, April 13-15, 2012. Motion by Touchett, seconded by Manley to recommend that the Common Council approve the license. Motion carried 2/0. 7. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Class B Fermented Malt Beverage and Class C Wine License for the change of Agent and ownership for the Tuvalu Coffeehouse and Gallery, 300 S. Main St. (Michelle Kubly, Agent). Motion by Touchett, seconded by Manley to recommend that the Common Council approve the license for the new Agent. Motion Carried 2/0. 8.
