CITY OF VERONA PUBLIC SAFETY AND WELFARE COMMITTEE DECEMBER 10, 2012 VERONA CITY HALL MINUTES 1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Jeremy Charles at 5:38 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Members Present: Jeremy Charles, and Evan Touchett. Ald. Manley was absent and excused. Others Present: Bernie Coughlin, Police Chief; Bill Burns, City Administrator; Joe Giver, Fire Chief; Randall Pickering, Fitchburg Fire Chief; and Kami Lynch, City Clerk. 3. Approval of Minutes. Motion by Touchett, seconded by Charles to approve the minutes of the October 8, 2012 meeting. Motion carried 2/0. 4. Discussion and possible action regarding Ordinance 12-822 Amending Section 10-1-13 of the City of Verona Code of Ordinances; Motor Vehicles and Traffic, Required Stops. Motion by Touchett, seconded by Charles to recommend approval of Ordinance 12-822 to the Common Council. Motion carried 2/0. 5. Discussion and possible action regarding the possibility of participating in the City of Fitchburg tactical radio communication system. Chief Giver gave background on adding a three channel tactical radio system in conjunction with the City of Fitchburg so that a back-up radio system would be provided if the DaneCom system were to be overloaded and fail in the event of an emergency.
