CITY OF VERONA PUBLIC SAFETY AND WELFARE COMMITTEE APRIL 22, 2013 VERONA CITY HALL MINUTES 1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chair Scott Manley at 5:30 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Members Present: Jeremy Charles, Scott Manley and Dale Yurs. Others Present: Bernie Coughlin; Police Chief, and Kami Lynch, City Clerk. 3. Approval of Minutes. Motion by Charles, seconded by Yurs to approve the minutes of the April 8, 2013 meeting. Motion carried 3/0. 4. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Temporary Class B License for Hometown Days June 6-9, 2013 from the Rotary Club of Fitchburg and Verona. Motion by Charles, seconded by Yurs to recommend approval of the Temporary Class B license consistent with the hours of the event for Hometown Days to the Common Council. Motion carried 3/0. 5. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Special Event for a ‘Mud Run’ on Saturday and Sunday May 18-19, 2013 from Ryan Richard of Race Day Events, LLC. Items 5 and 6 were discussed at the same time with no objections as they relate to one another. Motion by Charles, seconded by Yurs to recommend approval of a Special Event for a ‘Mud Run’ May 18-19, 2013 and the Temporary Class B license for the event to the Common Council. Motion carried 3/0. 6. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Temporary Class B License for a ‘Mud Run’ on Sunday May 19, 2013 from Mike O’Brien of Ice, Inc. This item was discussed with the previous item(5) and the Motion carried 3/0 to recommend approval of the Temporary Class B for a ‘Mud Run’ to the Common Council. 7. Discussion and possible action regarding Ordinance No. 13-826 amending Section 27 of Chapter 1 of Title 10 of the City of Verona Code of Ordinances; Motor Vehicles and Traffic, Parking Prohibited Zones. Motion by Charles, seconded by Yurs to recommend approval of Ordinance No. 13-826 to the Common Council. Motion carried 3/0. 8. Discussion and possible action regarding Resolution R-13-006 Approving an Intergovernmental Agreement for Operation of an Impaired Driving Task Force for 2013. Motion by Yurs, seconded by Charles to recommend approval of Resolution R-13-006 to the Common Council. Motion carried 3/0. 9. Adjournment.
