CITY OF VERONA PUBLIC SAFETY AND WELFARE COMMITTEE APRIL 27, 2015 VERONA CITY HALL MINUTES 1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Yurs at 5:03 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Members Present: Evan Touchett and Dale Yurs. Others Present: Bernie Coughlin, Police Chief; and Kami Scofield, City Clerk. 3. Approval of Minutes. Motion by Touchett, seconded by Yurs to approve the minutes from the April 13, 2015 meeting. Motion carried 2/0. 4. Discussion and possible action regarding a Special Event Permit for the ‘Verona Fest’ July 31 – August 1, 2015 from Mike O’Brien of Ice Inc. This year the event will be geared more towards kids and will be of smaller scale in comparison to prior years. Motion by Touchett , seconded by to Yurs recommend that the Council approve the Special Event for ‘Verona Fest’. Motion carried 2/0. 5. Discussion and possible action regarding a Temporary Class B Beer license for ‘Verona Fest’ July 31 – August 1 from the Verona Youth Hockey Association. Mike O’Brien explained that there will be no beer tent for Verona Fest this year, the beer will be served inside the ice arena in the upstairs area. Motion by Touchett, seconded by Yurs to recommend that the Common Council approve the Temporary Class B License for ‘Verona Fest’. Motion carried 2/0. 6. Adjournment.
