CITY OF VERONA PUBLIC SAFETY AND WELFARE COMMITTEE FEBRUARY 22, 2016 VERONA CITY HALL MINUTES 1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Dale Yurs at 5:34 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Dale Yurs and Heather Reekie present. Evan Touchett was absent and excused. Also in attendance: Police Chief Bernie Coughlin, City Administrator Bill Burns, City Clerk Ellen Clark, Mark Tuescher, Tracy Krueger and Sarah Thomas. 3. Approval of Minutes: Motion by Reekie, seconded by Yurs, to approve the minutes from the January 25, 2016 meeting. Motion carried 2-0. 4. Discussion and possible action on an Application for a Class “B” Beer and Reserve “Class B” Liquor License for Sugar River Pizza Company, LLC, located at 957 Liberty Drive, Sharon Thomas, Agent: Police Chief Coughlin has reviewed the applications, and endorses the same. Motion by Reekie, seconded by Yurs, to recommend to the Common Council to approve the Application for a Class “B” Beer and Reserve “Class B” Liquor License for Sugar River Pizza Company, LLC, located at 957 Liberty Drive, Sarah Thomas, Agent. Motion carried 2-0. 5. Discussion and possible action on an Application for a Class “B” Beer and Reserve “Class B” Liquor License for Mark Tuescher, d/b/a Tread, LLC, located at 407 W. Verona Avenue: Police Chief Coughlin has reviewed the applications, and endorses the same. Motion by Yurs, seconded by Reekie, to recommend to the Common Council to approve the Application for a Class “B” Beer and Reserve “Class B” Liquor License for Mark Tuescher, d/b/a Treads, LLC, located at 407 W. Verona Avenue. Motion carried 2-0. 6. Discussion on winter parking regulations signage: Chief Coughlin updated the committee on winter parking regulation and private street signage. 7. Discussion on private street signage: 8. Discussion and possible action on parking on Breckenridge Road: Tabled. 9. Discussion and possible action on the City of Madison Police Training Center Use Agreement: Any agency using the City of Madison Police Training Center must use this agreement. The only change is an increase in fee from $25 to $30. Motion by Reekie, seconded by Yurs to recommend to the Common Council to approve the City of Madison Police Training Center Use Agreement.
