PUBLIC WORKS/SEWER & WATER COMMITTEE
MONDAY, JANUARY 22, 2018
1. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Touchett at 5:15pm.
2. Roll Call: Present: Evan Touchett, Luke Diaz. Also present: Theran Jacobson, Director of Public Works;
Jeff Mikorski, City Administrator; Jeff Montpas, City Engineer, AECOM; Bryan Kleinmaier, City Attorney,
Stafford Rosenbaum.
3. MOVED by Touchett, seconded by Diaz, to recommend approve the minutes of the January 8, 2018
meeting of the Public Works/Sewer and Water Committee. Motion carried 2-0.
4. MOVED by Touchett, seconded by Diaz, to recommend full replacement of pavement with hot mixed
asphalt for E Verona Avenue from Hometown Circle to Old PB. Motion carried 2-0.
5. MOVED by Touchett, seconded by Diaz, to recommend approval of agreement with Dane County
regarding Pedestrian Bridge over Badger Mill Creek at Badger Prairie County Park, as presented.
Motion carried 2-0.
6. MOVED by Touchett, seconded by Diaz, to recommend acquisition of property for Project ID 2017-115
Well 6 at appraised value, contingent upon review by Director of Public Works and City Attorney, and
approval of final form of agreement. Motion carried 2-0.
7. MOVED by Touchett, seconded by Diaz, to convene in closed session regarding offer to purchase lands
necessary for Transportation Project Plat 100-00-53100-230-165 for Project ID 2017-113, pedestrian
improvements. Motion carried 2-0 at 5:47pm.
8. MOVED by Diaz, seconded by Touchett, to reconvene in open session. Motion carried 2-0 at 6:04pm.
9. MOVED by Diaz, seconded by Touchett, to recommend acquisition of parcels 2, 3, 4 and 5 for Project
2017-113 Pedestrian Improvements. Motion carried 2-0.
10. MOVED by Diaz, seconded by Touchett, to adjourn at 6:06pm. Motion carried 2-0.

4. Discussion and action regarding concrete pavement condition along E. Verona Avenue from Hometown
Circle to Old Highway PB.
5. Discussion and action regarding an agreement with Dane County regarding Pedestrian Bridge over
Badger Mill Creek at Badger Prairie Country Park.
6. Discussion and action regarding offer to purchase for lands necessary on Transportation Project Plat
100-00-53100-230-165 for Project ID 2017-113, pedestrian improvements.
The Public Works/Sewer and Water Committee may convene in a closed session, as authorized by
Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(e), for the purpose of deliberating or negotiating the purchase of public
properties, the investing of public funds or conducting other specified public business, whenever
competitive or bargaining reasons deem a closed session necessary. The Public Works/Sewer and Water
Committee may reconvene in an open session to discuss and take action on the subject matter discussed in
the closed session.
