ID-26-0194 Retro Pay - Police (1) On motion of Mayor Thompson seconded by Alderwoman Bailey, the Mayor and Alderwoman voted to Approve the Retro Pay of a Police Officer. This retroactive payment covers employee's hours during January 21, 2026 to February 3, 2026 while in Field Training with another Officer. The employee worked 82.35 regular hours at the corrected rate of $24.53 per hour; at the time he/she was paid $23.78 per hour, resulting in an underpayment of $61.76. The employee also worked 4.90 overtime hours at the corrected rate of $36.42 per hour; he/she was paid $35.67 per hour, resulting in an underpayment of $5.51. The total retroactive pay due for regular and overtime hours is $67.27. The employee is entitled to an additional $1.50 per hour increase for twenty-five (25) year(s) of service. effective February 11, 2026. ID-26-0198 Longevity Pay - Ambulance (1) On motion of Mayor Thompson, seconded by Alderwoman Bailey, the Mayor and Alderwoman voted to Approve the Longevity Pay of an Emergency Medical Services Paramedic by changing the hourly rate from $12.02 to $12.12 (12.02+.10). The employee is entitled to an additional $.10 per hour increase for one (1) year(s) of service. effective February 19, 2026. ID-26-0203 Rescind Termination - Police (1) On motion of Mayor Thompson, seconded by Alderwoman Bailey, the Mayor and Alderwoman voted to Rescind Termination of a Police Officer, effective December 24, 2025. ID-26-0204 Suspension - Ambulance (1) On motion of Mayor Thompson, seconded by Alderwoman Bailey, the Mayor and Alderwoman voted to Uphold the Suspension of a Lieutenant I (Rescue) The employee was suspended for 48 hours (Six 8-hour days while on light duty) on February 18,19, 20, 23, 24 and 25, 2026 for Violating the City of Vicksburg Fire Department Standard Guidelines 12.3.8 and 12.4.10. Major Violation L. Making False Statements. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 2- Mayor Thompson, and Alderwoman Bailey Absent: 1- Alderman Mayfield L. ID-26-0205 Suspension Pending Termination - Fire Department (1) On motion of Mayor Thompson, seconded by Alderwoman Bailey, the Mayor and Alderwoman voted to Approve the Suspension Pending Termination of a Firefighter for Violating the City of Vicksburg Drug & Alcohol Policy, effective February 10, 2026. The board agreed to suspend the employee for thirty (30) days along with a six (6) month probationary period. The employee must also complete counseling, drug rehabilitation treatment as well as pass a drug test in order to return to work. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 2- Mayor Thompson, and Alderwoman Bailey Absent: 1- Alderman Mayfield M.
