Vienna, Virginia, Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at 8 am. The following members were present: Mr. Baldwin, Mr. Layer, Mr. Cheselka, Ms. Hanley, and Ms. van Doorn. Staff present: Planning & Zoning Director David Levy; Deputy Director Kelly O’Brien; Zoning Administrator Andrea West; and Planner Sharmaine Abaied. Staff provided the board with the recent draft Code Create updates that include Article 4B, Article 5A, Article 5B, and Article 9. The board was informed that Town Council voted to approve releasing the new chapter 18 & subdivision ordinance draft for public hearing. After discussion, the board member had the following questions: • Who is the source? Is it the consultant? • Section 4B states brick ornamental masonry. Does that include stamped concrete? • Section 18-468 states that light sources can not be visible. Is this referring -to the conduit? • Section 18-469 Can the light limitation equation be clarified better? • Section 18-468 states that the total light sources cannot exceed 200,000 lumens. The board discussed having a special meeting at a future date to craft a recommendation to Town Council regarding the code update.
