Roll Call Midge Biles, Mike Cheselka, Holly Aglio, Bill Comerford, Kathy Georgen, Colby Bruno, Michelle Kang, Lu Cousins, Deborah Kennedy-Vienna Art Society guest, Kathy Blevins-VPAC Clerk VPAC21-034 Resolution Continuity of Government Ms. Biles read the Continuity of Government Resolution. All agreed via voice vote. 3. Approval of the Minutes: VPAC21-036 Approval of June 15, 2021 meeting minutes Acceptance of Minutes Motion to Accept – Ms. Cousins Second – Mr. Comerford Approved 3. Regular Business VPAC21-037 Vienna Public Art Foundation- This item is essential as the Foundation receives donations for projects • Virginia Commission for the Arts grant approval update • Call for VPAF volunteers •Ms. Aglio is waiting for the check to be cut from the Town in the amount of $4,500 for the matching Community Arts Grant. The check will be given to Ms. Blevins, who will then notify Ms. Aglio to pick it up from the Community Center to deposit it into the VPAF account. •Ms. Aglio wrote up an article for August issue of The Voice to recruit members and submit to the Town. The article was reviewed and edited by VPAC members, then submitted to the PIO by Ms. Blevins. VPAC21-038 VPAC/Foundation brochure update -no update VPAC21-039 Green Hearts Juice mural update •Green Hearts Juice has created a fundraiser partnering with Vienna Foodies. •Ms. Biles will get back in touch about moving forward, then Green Hearts Juice will present the mural design to VPAC to prepare for submitting an application to the BAR for approval. Then a work session will be scheduled with the BAR Town of Vienna Page 1 Printed on 8/18/2021 Vienna Public Art Commission Meeting Minutes July 20, 2021 VPAC21-040 Harmony Park - read-ahead packet •Ms. Kang presented the project details •Ms. Kennedy will work on creating a timeline and project plan •Ms. Kang, Ms. Cousins and Mr. Comerford agreed to assist with the project •Ms. Biles will work on finalizing the dimensions of the area being used for the park, and work on fundraising ideas •Ms. Bruno will work on determining pricing for selected instruments. •Ms. Blevins will ask Leslie Herman to coordinate a meeting with all parties- NOVA Parks, Ayr Hill Garden Club and TOV. •An MOU will then be created by Ms. Blevins to be signed by all parties. VPAC21-041 Patrick Henry library mural •Not feasible, but the library would like to work with VPAC on a mural when the building is constructed VPAC21-042 New Business VPAC21-043 TOV “Vision for Public Art” •Ms. Biles and Ms. Cousins have a meeting with Natalie Monkou-Economic Development, in August VPAC21-044 Electronic Participation Resolution and Policy •Policy will be emailed to VPAC members for review to be voted on at the August 17 meeting VPAC21-045 Adjournment 4. Meeting Adjournment Mr. Chesleka made a motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Ms. Bruno. The motion passed unanimously.
