Approval of the Minutes: VPAC22-221 Approve minutes from the October 18 meeting Ms. Biles made a motion to approve the October 18, 2022 meeting minutes, Ms. Cousins seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. 3. Regular Business VPAC22-222 VPAF Treasurer’s reports Patrick Henry Library check came in. There is $16,938.27 in the VPAF account. VPAC22-223 Chairman’s report Mr. Cheselka opened up discussion on the removal or replacement of storm drain art throughout Town. Council would like to see them either removed or repainted as permanent. Mr. Cheselka has pressure washed and sanded them all, but much more work has to be done to remove them. Ms. Kang made a motion to continue the work to permenantly remove all storm drain art in the Town. Mr. Comerford seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. “A New Day” mural fundraising project Ms. Kennedy is preparing to present the project on January 23 work session. She has spoken to 4 Council members who are open to the concept. More will be shared at the December 13 VPAC meeting. Cookies with Santa craft table-Ms. Kennedy presented the craft project of clear plastic ball ornaments using glue and glitter. Ms. Kennedy will contact Derrick Cowles with Parks and Recreation for more details about the event and set up. The December 20 VPAC meeting will be moved to December 13. VPAC22-224 Friends of Vienna update ..Body The volunteer names and information will be kept with the VPAF. Ms. Boms met with Karen Thayer, TOV Public Information Office, about creating a social media for the VPAC/VPAF. Ms. Thayer wants to understand the line between both before making a decision. She would like more representation in the VOICE from VPAC (articles from members). Ms. Biles made the suggestion to remove the “NY School of Art” from the wording in the Accomplishments. Ms. Kennedy made the suggestion to move the “Vision of Public Art” bullet further up the list. Ms. Cousins made a motion to approve the VPAC budget with these changes. Mr. Comerford seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. VPAC22-227 Call for artist update. Please read the call for artist that Lu handed out last meeting. We should all have some idea of the process. No discussion VPAC22-228 Viva Vienna, Walk on the Hill, and other 2023 events VPAC will apply participate in Viva Vienna 2023 and possibly Walk on the Hill in the Market Place area. VPAC22-229 Collaborate with NOVA Parks to establish a framework for a potential musical instruments play area in Centennial Park ..Body Mr. Cheselka reported that one flower will cost $2k, 4 flowers will cost $6,800 including installaltion. The four flower project will be presented to Council on January 23. VPAC22-231 VPAC vacancies 2 VPAC members spread the word about filling two openings. Need to put an article in the VOICE. 4. Meeting Adjournment Ms. Biles made a motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Mr. Comerford. The motion passed unanimously.
