Approval of the Minutes: VPAC23-245 Approve minutes from the December 13 meeting Ms. Cousins made a motion to approve the December 13, 2022 meeting minutes, Ms. Kang seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. VPAC23-246 VPAF Treasurer’s reports There is $21,938.27 in the VPAF account. VPAC23-247 Chairman’s report Mr. Cheselka announced the March 20, 2023 Council meeting for the Master Plan approval, along with the approval of the four VPAC projects presented to Council on January 23. The drain art will be powerwashed beginning in the spring. Ms. Cousins contacted a suggested muralist who submitted renderings and pricing of $1,400. The designs were reviewed by the VPAC members. The designs were not consistant with the overall vision for the project. 3. Regular Business VPAC23-248 New Day mural project presentation to Commission ..Body Ms. Kennedy conducted a mock presentation and VPAC members gave feedback and suggestions for the final presentation to be presented to Council on January 23. VPAC23-249 Social media and website update Ms. Boms reported that a recruiting article was in the January Voice for VPAC and VPAF vacancies. The vacancies were also posted on the VPAC webpage, Vienna Va Public Art Facebook page and Instagram page. There has been one person, and their daughter who expressed interest in applying to be a VPAC member. A link to the online application was emailed to them. An article will be in the February Voice highlighting the LOVE sign decorators. VPAC23-250 Grant program update Ms. Cousins reported that most of the former grant information can be re-used for future grants. The Va. Commission for the Arts grant deadline is April 1, 2023, and will be completed by a VPAC member. Mr. Comerford and Ms. Apel reported their research findings from a grant writing web site resulting in 32 candidates. Interviews were offered to 12-13 potential candidates, 6 declined, 7 were interviewed. The search has been narrowed to 3 final candidates. Interviews will be held on January 27. Ms. Apel, Ms. Kang, and Ms. Kennedy will sit in on the final interviews. New Business VPAC23-252 Marketing Ms. Biles suggested to have bookmarks printed with VPAC logo and bulleted information. Ms. Biles will take a photo of the example shown and send to Ms. Boms. Ms. Cousins reported on a price quote of $206.87 from McAbe’s Printing for a stand-up banner for VPAC to use at events. Ms. Kang made a motion to use VPAF funds to purchase a VPAC banner. Mr. Comerford seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Ms. Cousins will bring forth designs at the February meeting. VPAC23-253 Zoning research Mr. Comerford researched zoning ordinances in other jurisdictions per two Council members suggestions that a public art ordinance be added into the Town Code. Mr. Comerford will write a draft to present to VPAC members. 4. Meeting Adjournment Ms. Biles made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Comerford seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
