resigning tonight. Liason Konstatos not present
2. Public Comments on Agenda Items –
Resident Cheryl Tucker spoke about Douglas Park, converted from
playground to storm water management. Village received a grant, which is
why it was converted. Now naming the other Park at Villa and Julia Ave,
doesn’t fall in the same category. Suggested Villa and Julia –name Sugar
Creek Park, creek flows thru not a detention pond but still a flood plain
area, has limitations, possibly a walking path, benches, trees, any item that
would not impede creek. Need to go through Mark Giueero at public
works. Spoke about Rotary Park, suggested natural plants there and
natural plants at Julia, folks who live at Villa and Julia park, may be
concerned about effects of natural plants. Ie: rats, fish, turtles and other
wildlife, birds and how will the neighbors feel about that. Suggested
survey. Great way to go forward. Get more Open Land Use for things that
are appropriate than the space just sitting there.
3. Public Comments on Non-Agenda Items –
Resident Eliza Deidrich, on Fun Commission spoke about Fun and Frolic event. Had
ordered wildflower seeds, giving to us, didn’t arrive in time. Landscape awards
suggestion– Fun Commission will pay for awards and gift cards.
What homes do we want to nominate for award. Collaborate with each other’s
commissions then next year we take it over completely, where we would put forth some
votes. We all take pics, compile for a vote. Would be in house. Focus on Pollinators and
when do we want to focus on this. Summer and Fall. We can bring ideas to the Fun
Comm next mtg. 3rd Tues of July. Landscape Awards discussed, If we see a house to
nominate, Commissioners will take photo and address at next meeting.

Resident Vicki lives on School Street. Likes the idea of Julia park, the naming of the park
and wants to support and advocate for that. Name suggestions: Potowatami Peoples.
Sheshibin or Sheshiben and another word for little duck- Potwatami name for duck. Likes
the natural plantings idea.
