NOTICE OF PROJECT PLAN PUBLIC HEARING The City of Wakefield will hold a public hearing on the proposed Water System Improvements project for the purpose of receiving comments from interested people. The hearing will be held at: May 27, 2025 – City of Wakefield – Municipal Building, Wakefield – 5:30 PM The purpose of the proposed project is to make improvements to the City Water system. Project construction will include the removal and replacement of aged and failing water distribution infrastructure, replacement of lead service lines, replacement of chemical feed pumps, SCADA upgrades, and associated improvements within the City of Wakefield Water System. Impacts of the proposed project include the increased reliability and performance of the water system. The proposed project funding being sought is estimated at $2,400,000. The estimated cost to users for the proposed project is projected to be around $6.00 to $9.00 per month per user, depending on the amount of grant offered in an EGLE funding package.
