ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING
October 6, 2020
Mayor Rumbold called the organizational meeting of the Village of Walden Board of Trustees to
order at 6:30 pm.
On roll call the following were:
Present: Mayor Sue Rumbold
Deputy Mayor John Ramos
Trustees Willie Carley
Faith Moore
Brian B. Sebring

Lynn E. Thompson

Appointments of the Mayor
Mayor Taylor appointed John Ramos as Deputy Mayor.
Appointments of the Board of Trustees
Deputy Mayor Ramos moved to re-appoint the firm Dickover, Donnelly, & Donovan as Village
Attorney. Seconded by Trustee Sebring. All ayes. Motion carried.
Trustee Moore moved to re-appoint Lanc & Tully as Village Engineer. Seconded by Trustee
Thompson. All ayes. Motion carried.
Deputy Mayor Ramos moved to re-appoint Anita Vandermark as Ethics Board member with term
ending April 1, 2025. Seconded by Trustee Moore. All ayes. Motion carried.
Trustee Moore moved to re-appoint Feerick Lynch MacCartney & Nugent, PLLC for all Police
Matters and Burke, Miele, & Golden for all other matters as Special Counsel. Seconded by Trustee
Thompson. All ayes. Motion carried.
Trustee Moore moved to re-appoint Joseph W. Coburn IV as the Special Prosecutor. Seconded by
Trustee Sebring. All ayes. Motion carried.
Trustee Moore moved to re-appoint Burke, Miele, & Golden as the Conflict Counsel. Seconded by
Trustee Thompson. All ayes. Motion carried.
Trustee Moore made a motion to appoint Rev. Jim Van Houten, Rev. Margaret Sullivan, Ani
Kunga, James O’Connell, Nava Herzog, Gary Swinger, Rev. Bonnie Snyder, Father Thomas

Callucci as the Police Department Chaplains. Seconded by Deputy Mayor Ramos. All ayes. Motion
carried.
Trustee Moore made a motion to re-appoint RBT as Auditors. Seconded by Trustee Thompson. All
ayes. Motion carried.
Designations of the Board of Trustees
Deputy Mayor Ramos made the motion to designate the Wallkill Valley Times and Times Herald
Record as official newspapers of the Village. Seconded by Trustee Moore. All ayes. Motion
carried.
Trustee Moore made a motion to designate Key Bank, Chase Bank, M&T Bank, Sterling National
Bank, and Orange County Trust as official depositories for the Village of Walden. Seconded by
Deputy Mayor Ramos. All ayes. Motion carried.
Resolutions of the Board of Trustees
Resolution 7-20-21, Setting the Dates, Times & Locations of Board Meetings
Trustee Moore moved to adopt Resolution 7-20-21, setting the dates, times and locations of Board
meetings. Seconded by Deputy Mayor Moore. All ayes. Resolution carried.
Resolution 8-20-21, Adopting an Investment Policy for the Village of Walden
Trustee Moore moved to adopt Resolution 38-17-18, adopting an investment policy for the Village
of Walden. Seconded by Trustee Sebring. All ayes. Resolution carried.
Resolution 9-20-21 Adopting a Procurement Policy for the Village of Walden
Trustee Moore moved to adopt Resolution 9-20-21, adopting a procurement policy for the Village
of Walden. Seconded by Deputy Mayor Ramos. All ayes. Resolution carried.

Appointment of Acting Village Justice – Gerald Mishk Jr.
Appointment of Deputy Village Clerk – Gina Somma
Appointment of Registrar of Vital Statistics – Marisa Kraus

Trustee Moore made a motion to adopt the Village Fees. Seconded by Deputy Mayor Ramos. All
ayes. Motion carried.
Motion to Adjourn
Trustee Moore motioned to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Deputy Mayor Ramos. All ayes.

The Agenda
The October 6, 2020 Village Board meeting will be conducted in accordance with the applicable
Executive Orders heretofore issued by New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo suspending certain
provisions of the New York State Open Meetings Law. While physical attendance by the public will
be permitted, such attendance is subject to those limitations as imposed by said Executive
Orders and all attendees will be required to socially distance from one another and wear a
mask while in Village Hall. Additionally, the public may view the meeting live by logging in to the
Village’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/villageofwalden if desired.
Public comment will be accepted at the meeting when permitted through the Facebook
Livestream. Written comments will be accepted for a period of five (5) days following the
meeting. Written comments may be submitted by email at mkraus@villageofwalden.org or by regular
mail to 1 Municipal Square, Walden, NY 12586.
