Public Hearing: Comprehensive Plan
Kristin Odonell from Lanc & Tully speaks about the changes made to the
comprehensive plan; changes were regarding the circulation section, parks section,
and zoning as well.
Resident from East Main Street speaks about a zoning change from B3 so he can
make it a two family. Surrounding residential neighbors prefer it to be a residence
again. Also, there is a great amount of vacant office space in the village. Mayor
Pearson advises him the comp plan committee is looking into it, and it has not
come to the village board yet to be looked at.
John Joseph speaks about owning the thruway shop and asks where the committee
is in the process. Attorney Cappello informs John that the plan is posted on the
website.

Michael McNamee states his support for the previous gentlemen, the request for a
two-family home zone on East Main Street would be conforming with more
existing two-family homes on that block than our current single family. And for the
other gentlemen from the thru way, a mixed-use development would be much
better use for the empty parking lot and for the land behind the building.
Kristen O’Donnell states the committee heard and considered the comments made
today, her recommendation would be for the committee to close the hearing and
refer it to the village board, the recommendations are in the plan to be looked at.
Brenda Adams made a motion to close the public hearing and move the
comprehensive plan to the village board. Seconded by John Thompson. All Ayes.
Motion carried.
Attorney Cappello advises the village board to review the comp plan and consider
the comments, then have a meeting to discuss it. Also suggests the board meet with
Kristen to go over a few things before making too many changes.
