Regular Meeting Minutes December 18, 2025 MINUTES FOR THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY COMMITTE OF THE BOROUGH OF WALDWICK HELD ON THURSDAY DECEMBER 18, 2025 OPENING PORTION • Call to Order: o Executive Director Tom McCormick called the meeting to order and read the Statement of Compliance. • Pledge of Allegiance o Recited by all present. • Roll Call: o Tom McCormick conducted the roll call. Present were: ▪ Thomas McCormick ▪ Dr. Mohammad Ahsan ▪ Meghan Bisi ▪ David Isaacs ▪ Dan Montella ▪ David Zilkowski • Council Liaisons: o Councilman Mark Ramundo o Councilwoman Michelle Weber • Approval of Minutes: o The minutes from the October 16 meeting were approved. PUBLIC PORTION • No comments from the public. OLD BUSINESS • Scout & Small Projects Inventory for Beautification Committee & Green Team Upkeep: o Dave Zilkowski shared list of projects sites to maintain. o Dave will send out list to create a database. o An interactive map of the sites was proposed to go along with the list. o Keep interactive list on the town website. o Get local business owners involved. • 2026 Town-wide Events o Tom spoke with Tatiana about scheduling the fall town cleanup. o The event is currently on hold due to other ongoing borough matters. o EPS drive on January 3rd 1|Page Regular Meeting Minutes December 18, 2025 o Earth Day is proposed for Wednesday April 27. However, the Town has set the sate for April 18 (High school recess is April 13 to 17). o Check for other conflicts with US 250th anniversary celebrations. o Put dates in the calendar. Let Town (Tatiana) know. • Wyckoff Avenue Property Walk o No developments. No updates. • Native Plants / Educational Outreach o Annual Seed Swap at the Ramsey Public Library upcoming. o Dan Montella arranged for Elaine Silverstein, Chair of the Bergen Chapter of the Native Plant Society, to give a presentation at the Ramsey Library on March 19, 2026 (speaker to bring her own computer). • Committee T-Shirts o Tom to speak with Tatiana • Flower Boxes & Composting o No developments and no updates regarding grant write-ups from Bruno Associates (grant writers). • Deer signs o No updates. • Water Conservation Initiative: o No updates. • Whites Pond Restocking: o Considering stocking additional fish species (bass, etc.) in addition to trout. o Mark contacted the hatchery and left message and is awaiting a response. • EPS Collection Partnership: o Potentially combine neighboring town cleanups with the Styrofoam (EPS) collection drive. NEW BUSINESS • News bulletin for late winter and early spring. Include the April 18 Styrofoam (EPS) collection. • Mahwah Environmental Volunteers MEVO - Mahwah, plant sales, composting, teach school kids about composting was discussed.
