Waldwick Access For All Advisory Committee

Waldwick Access for All Meeting Minutes February 26, 2024 The meeting took place via Zoom. In attendance: Cristina, Angela, Jim, Tom, MaryBeth, Chant McLeod, Deb and Katie Cericola, our Council Liaison. Chant McLeod has stepped into his Karen’s seat on our committee. Welcome aboard! He will reach out to Special Needs co-ordinators at several area schools and report back at our next meeting PEDESTRIAN PUSH-BUTTONS: Jim has worked on this diligently and now we are seeing the fruits of his efforts. More details to follow at our next meeting. SOCIAL MEDIA: Students/Interns have come forward. Angela & Cristina are working with the interested students. Boro e newsletter….Angela has submitted WAFA info for the newsletter. Sometimes our info is not included in the newsletter…. Something we need to look into. Confirm protocols/contact/deadlines… Boro Park Renovations: Katie brought to our attention that there will be work done at the park this calendar year. Tom & Angela volunteered to attend council meeting(s) to express that we would like to be involved to make our recommendations. Stay tuned. MAHWAH’s Access for All: Mary Beth has been in touch with her contact from their group and spoke about some of their successful programs. LIBRARY PROGRAMS: • DONATIONS: Several items that Karen selected for/with the library will be purchased after the Boro’s fiscal budget is passed over the next month or so. Our line item is for $1,000 yearly and the unused portion does not roll over. The purchase we are making for library items is a little over $200. • SIGN LANGUAGE STORY TIME: Regina …To be re-visited when she is able. Other conversation: • Curb cuts • Walk in Memorial Day parade with our T-shirts and banner again Remaining meetings for 2024: • Monday, May 20th (Tentatively being held at MB’s office/7pm…Zoom as fallback). • Monday, August 19th @ Boro Hall, upstairs @ 7pm. • Monday, November 18th @ Boro Hall, upstairs @ 7pm.
