WALDWICK ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT FORMAL SESSION September 25, 2024 The Formal Session of the Waldwick Zoning Board of Adjustment was held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. and was called to order by Jesus Mones, Chairman, who made the announcement of adequate notice of all meetings. ROLL CALL: Mr. Mones present Mr. Nieman present Mr. Walsh present Ms. Luppino present Mr. Wekarski present Mr. Gurian absent Mr. Centineo absent Mr. Sanzo present Mr. Cericola present Also Present: Russell Anderson, Board Attorney Joyce Sinclair, Board Secretary Joe Mysliwiec, Zoning Officer GREETINGS TO THE PUBLIC: No one appeared. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: A motion was made by Mr. Sanzo and seconded by Mr. Walsh for the approval of the Minutes of August 28, 2024. A unanimous vote was taken. The Minutes were approved as submitted. RESOLUTIONS: MARTINOSKI 34 Zazzetti Street 24-O Block 130, Lot 6 New Single Family Dwelling RESOLUTION MARTINOSKI 6 Clinton Place 24-P Block 130, Lot 4 New Single Family Dwelling RESOLUTION A motion for approval of the Resolutions were made by Mr. Sanzo and seconded by Mr. Walsh. A unanimous vote was taken. The Resolutions were approved. APPLICATIONS: KAROYAN 7 Cleveland Avenue 24-S Block 122, Lot 4 Ed Sherman, Architect Add-a-Level NEW APPLICATION Ed Sherman, Architect, appeared before the Board. The Applicant proposes a walk up storage in the foot print of the existing garage. He is replacing the roof on the garage and would like to raise it so that there is attic space above. The raised height does not affect the resident behind him and does not have any effect to the left or right side. It will be four feet at the edge with a walk down the middle; it could not be turned in an apartment. The height on an auxiliary structure is the variance needed. It is an existing structure. The first floor is staying as is, just raising the roof five feet for a place to store things over the garage. Currently the Applicant’s storage is in his garage and he would like to be able to store above the garage so that he can use the garage for car storage. The siding will match the existing. There was no one in the audience to address this application. The Board agreed it was a good application and were in favor of it. A motion to approve the Application was made by Mr. Walsh and seconded by Ms. Luppino. A unanimous vote was taken. The Application was approved. DIRECTOR 26 Stuart Street 24-Q Block 72.04, Lot 50 Install 6’ Fence on Corner Lot NEW APPLICATION- Postponed This Application will be postponed to the next meeting at the Applicant’s request. NEW BUSINESS: -Due to increased commitments with the Waldwick Ambulance Corps, Board Member, Ken Gurian, has submitted his letter of resignation. The Board regretfully accepted the resignation and expressed appreciation for his many years of service to the Board and that he will be greatly missed. -Discussion took place regarding professional business attire at Board meetings.
