Adjourn - Next Meeting March 1, 2021 at 5:30 pm in City Commission Chambers Page 2 of 4  COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES ZOOM MEETING MONDAY, JANUARY 4, 2021 5:30 PM Call Meeting to Order - Record Attendance - Present: Jessica Babcock, Jena Wilmers, Carla Hendon, Greg Gaastra, Andrew Rienstra-Ehlers, Mary Wiebers, Sarah Bydalek, City Clerk and Commissioner Elaina Huizenga-Chase. Absent: Julie Wilson. Discussion Items Motion by Gaastra, seconded by Hendon to Approval Minutes from November 30, 2020, motion carried. Winter Events a. Wreath Decorating in Standale went well, we had 12 businesses participate. b. Nicole is looking into "Drive-In Movie Event for late February/Early March. Restaurant Highlights 1. Showcase Walker’s local restaurants is still in the works. But due to COVID shut-down it has been difficult to get information. Committee Members will continue to work on this. 2. How can we make the biggest impact for them? Employee interviews to share on social media about how the pandemic has affected them? 3. Should we do something similar to Muskegon’s restaurant bingo? At this time we are going to wait until spring. Other Ideas? Goal to do at least one thing per month 1. Carla ordered a report from Dun & Bradstreet that should give us business demographics for us to use throughout the year. Carla and Andrew are going to work on this project and report back in February. 2. We’d like to do something with Random Acts of Kindness week, which is the 3rd week of February. Possibly create a Facebook post on this. Create a post to promote a Selfie Booth/Location. Possible idea is bench in front of WIFC with lighted trees behind. Daddy/Daughter pictures could be taken and posted to Walker FB page (maybe a contest) 3. Adult Easter Egg Hunt i.
