Scarecrow Contest 2021 • Dates for the Contest are October 17-31 • “Battle of the Crows” • Contact Bridge Street Market for straw, potentially use the leftover bales from Pumpkin Bash • Would Meijer be interested in sponsoring the event again? Last year they gave 20- $25 gift cards • Nicole will send us a draft of the entry form/email to review prior to sending to businesses in early September 2. Pumpkin Bash • October 2: 1:30-3pm • CEC will have a table with comment cards for the community to offer up suggestions • CEC will wear t-shirts ordered by Nicole/the City (bright green with CEC on them and logo?) • As some CEC members tend to the table, others will act as "event ambassadors" by assisting families with directions, questions, etc. • CEC members may arrive between 1-1:15pm before the event begins. 3. CEC Purpose Statement • Julie asked if the CEC had a mission statement and this is what was provided to me by the Mayor when I took over as Chair: “Acts as an advisory committee to create and promote greater engagement in local activities by residents and corporate citizens residing in the Community.” Community Engagement Committee Minutes 8-3-21 Page 1 2 of 2 3  • Perhaps we can print a sign and have it in a table stand for the events we are working, i.e. Pumpkin Bash and Winter Fest 4. Winter Fest • Thursday, December 2, 2021 • ·Same idea as Pumpkin Bash with a CEC table and suggestion cards NO MEETING IN SEPTEMBER DUE TO LABOR DAY!!
