Public Safety Facility Discussion Continued Adjournment Page 1 of 3  PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES COMMISSION CONFERENCE ROOM MONDAY, JANUARY 26, 2026 5:00 PM Call Meeting to Order - Record Attendance Committee Members: Elaina Huizenga-Chase (Chair), Jessica Babcock, Roxanne Deschaine, and Gary Carey (Alternate) City Staff: Scott Conners, Rusty Shoultz, Keith Mankel, Brandyn Heugel, Dan DeVries, and Darrel Schmalzel Discussion Items Approval of Minutes from January 12, 2026 Motion by Jessica Babcock, seconded by Roxanne Deschaine to approve approve the Minutes from January 12, 2026. Motion Carried. Public Safety Facility Discussion Continued The Committee reviewed conversation from the last meeting and continued the discussion regarding hiring a campaign consultant. Members of the committee and city staff met with a consultant from Seyferth PR to review the services offered. Committee discussion took place. Motion by Commissioner Deschaine, seconded by Commissioner Babcock to hire Seyferth PR for campaign management. The Committee discussed meeting weekly as a smaller working group. The Committee agreed and the group was formed. Scott Conners presented a cost comparison prepared by Studio GC outlining renovating vs. new construction of public safety buildings. Examples of previous projects completed by Studio GC were also shared.
