Wilson / Remembrance Roundabout: MDOT compared crash data for the Wilson and Remembrance roundabout to similar roundabouts in the state. MDOT will share the results of this comparative crash analysis with the Traffic Committee. 2. Regional Crash Data: At a recent GVMC Safety Committee meeting, GVMC staff shared lists of the top crash locations throughout the Grand Rapids metro area. These lists will be shared with the Traffic Committee for discussion. 3. Standale Crossing Stop Signs: The Planning Commission requested that the Traffic Committee discuss whether or not there is a need to have stop signs installed at the Meijer and Blain’s parking lot entrances to Standale Crossing. 4. Texas St Speeding: Miranda Botwinski, 1387 Texas St, is concerned about speeding on Texas St. This street is part of a connection between Bristol and 3 Mile for the Alpine Estates neighborhood. Ms. Botwinski has tried speaking with the drivers of speeding vehicles. Some of the drivers have been understanding and have slowed down. Other drivers have reacted rudely and continue to speed. Ms. Botwinski appreciates the Police Department’s directed patrols in the area. She has also recently requested that the Police Department post the temporary Your Speed signs on Texas St. Ms. Botwiniski would like the Traffic Committee to consider installing traffic calming measures on Texas St as a permanent deterrent for speeding. Page 1 of 2 5. Informational Items: 1. Nixon No Trucks Sign: In an effort to increase drive compliance, the DPW recently made some modifications to the SB Nixon No Trucks sign. The sign was moved further north and a flag weas placed on the top of it. This should increase the sign’s visibility for drivers on both Remembrance and Leonard. 6. Upcoming Meeting Schedule: 1.
