She is concerned for the safety of young grandchildren riding bikes and playing in an area with vehicles exceeding the posted speed limit. 3. 3 Mile / Home Depot Intersection: Mike Post (Cabinet LLC), 2751 Alpine, is concerned about traffic safety at the intersection of 3 Mile and the Home Depot driveway. He believes that drivers utilizing the Home Depot driveway may be mistaking one of the left turn lanes on 3 Mile for a center turn lane. Mr. Post also stated that after a winter of snowplowing, sometimes the pavement markings do not show very well on the concrete pavement. He asked if pavement marking upgrades and/or driveway improvements could be considered to lessen the number of crashes that he has witnessed at this intersection. 4. 3 Mile Widening: Assistant City Manager Frank Wash has requested that the Traffic Committee discuss the idea of widening 3 Mile from Fruit Ridge to Alpine to a continuous 5-lane cross-section, since this Page 1 of 18 section of street operates as an emergency detour route for I-96. 5.
