Waltham City Council Minutes of the Citizens Input Meeting of June 5, 2025 President McLaughlin called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Present: Councillors Bradley-MacArthur, Brasco, Dunn, Durkee, Hanley, Harris, Katz, LaFauci, LeBlanc, Logan, McMenimen, Stanley, and President McLaughlin. Absent: LaCava, Vidal. City Clerk Vizard recited the Council Prayer followed by President McLaughlin leading all present in the Pledge of Allegiance. Councillor Durkee asked for a moment of silence for all military that have served past and present. James Krikeles, 15 Howard Street #2, Waltham and Artie Kronenfeld and Emily Szczypek of the Waltham Times were all recognized as recording the meeting. President McLaughlin explained that this is a special meeting of the City Council which has been called subject to Rule 88 for the purpose of gathering additional information regarding the Comprehensive Zoning study. President McLaughlin gave an explanation of the rules and time specifications. Councillors Logan, Katz, Bradley-MacArthur and Dunn were recognized as having correspondences from constituents related to the meeting that were sent via email. Copies were given to Clerk Vizard to be distributed to the full Council. President McLaughlin invited speakers to the podium. The following attendees spoke: Diana Young, 147 Bishops Forest Drive Chris Gradziel, 297 School Street Zack Boughner-Diaz, 25 Clements Road Belinda Jentz, 1000 Lexington Street #27 Mitchell DoPanni, 372 River Street #3 Deb Herman, 3 Grant Place, Unit 2 Juliana “Juju” Simmons, 90 Whitman Road Doreen Frigo, 14 Ripley Street Sergio Michaelsen, 12 Russell Street Gustaf Michaelsen, 12 Russel Street Nete (Nate) Uwaifo, 70 E Charlesbank Way Carl Cincotta, 74 South Street Alex Adamson, 12 Wheelock Terrace Genoveva Tavera, 158 Marguerite Avenue Matthew Frederick, 21 Lyman Street Tom Benavides, 308 River Street # 3 Tim Riley, 100 Howard Street #2 Chris Hammer, 190 Adams Street #2 Daniel Semeniuta, 14 Brook Avenue #2 Ana Sheehy, 308 River Street # 3 Saul Blumenthal 223 Robbins Street # 2 1 Stan Yen, 215 Robbins Street With no further matters President McLaughlin closed the Citizens Input Hearing and referred the matter back to the Ordinances and Rules Committee. President McLaughlin thanked all the attendees. Councillor Harris moved to adjourn. The motion was approved by a voice vote. McLaughlin, City Council President, hereby call a Special Meeting of the Waltham City Council for Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium, at the Clark Government Center Building, 119 School Street, Waltham, MA., for the purpose of gathering additional information and attempting to ascertain the will of the people on the matter listed below. No other matters shall be considered. Citizen Input Hearing Comprehensive Zoning Review At Citizens Input Hearing City of Waltham and Waltham City Council is seeking public input from Residents, Developers and Business Owners on the following: 1. Share Zoning changes you would like to see with this project 2. Share any challenges you have had working with existing Zoning 3. Ideas for Zoning the future 4. Your input is welcome and appreciated!
