WARRENSBURG TREE BOARD BOARD MINUTES May 25, 2017 The Warrensburg Tree Board met in regular session on May 25, 2017 at the Warrensburg Community Center, 445 E. Gay St. The meeting was called to order by Larry Olpin at 4:09 pm. Members in attendance: Larry Olpin, Leslie Bayless and Jay Raveill. Others in attendance: none  Agenda: Jay Raveill moved to approve the agenda. Leslie Bayless seconded. Approved 3-0.  Minutes: Jay Raveill moved to approve the April 27, 2017. Leslie Bayless seconded. Approved 3-0.  Discussion Items o TRIM Grant Update – 2016 none o TRIM Grant Update - 2017 Jay Raveill suggested we do a “toe tag” for the cottonwood tree in Shepherd Park that is on this year’s T.R.I.M. Grant. General discussion. o MCFC Conference No report. o Extra Tree Leslie Bayless reports that she had been in contact with Glen at Sunset Hill Cemetery and is making arrangements to get the tree planted. o Budget Request We had already decided to simply approve last year’s figures but still need someone to attend the City Council Meeting on May 26. Jay Raveill is checking his calendar. o New Officers for Next Year Larry Olpin suggested Trish Smith for Chair if she will agree. Leslie Bayless will continue as Vice Chair/Secretary unless someone else volunteers. Larry will get in touch with Trish to see if she is willing to serve as believe she will not be at the June meeting. o New Board Member Christian Cutler stopped by before the meeting to say hello. He has not yet been appointed by the mayor. o Education/Outreach Efforts  Trail around Racehorse Lake at Pertle Springs map No report.  Tree Health Tour  Jay Raviell reports it is scheduled for June 27th at 9 am at either Cave Hollow or Sunset Hill Cemetery, or both. He will confirm with Chuck Conner and email the board. General discussion about publicity. o Other  Mulberry Tree Leslie Bayless reported that Trish Smith and Susy Latare, a former Tree Board member, had reminded us about the mulberry tree on Maguire St and hoped we were protecting it, as in not on the chopping block! Leslie showed copies of newspaper articles from the 1970s about the tree and the obituary of A.G. “Tab” Taubert who owned the property at the time. General discussion with Leslie agreeing to more research.  Next Meeting Date: Next meeting date is set for June 22, 2017.  Adjourn: Leslie Bayless moved to close the meeting, Jay Raveill seconded.
