WARRENSBURG TREE BOARD BOARD MINUTES June 22, 2017 The Warrensburg Tree Board met in regular session on June 22, 2017 at the Warrensburg Community Center, 445 E. Gay St. The meeting was called to order by Leslie Bayless at 4:00 pm. Members in attendance: Leslie Bayless, Trish Smith, Kevin Courtwright, and Jay Raveill Others in attendance: Jason McCarty · Agenda: Jay Raveill moved to approve the agenda. Trish Smith seconded. Approved 4-0. · Minutes: Trish Smith moved to approve the May 25, 2017 minutes with one correction (under Budget Request, the City Council Meeting is June, not May). Kevin Courtwright seconded. Approved 4-0. · Discussion Items o New Officers for Next Year Trish Smith moved to appoint Jay Raveill as chair. Kevin Courtwright seconded. Motion approved 4-0. Trish Smith moved to appoint Leslie Bayless as Vice-Chair/Secretary. Kevin Courtwright seconded. Motion approved 4-0. o TRIM Grant Update – 2016 Jason McCarty advised that he believes it is complete but reminded that he was not directly involved with the 2016 T.R.I.M. Grant. o TRIM Grant Update - 2017 Jason McCarty reported that the City Council approved applying for the T.R.I.M. grant in May and it was turned into MDC before the deadline. We should hear the decision in the fall. o MCFC Conference Kevin Courtwright reported that he enjoyed the MCFC Conference and learned a lot, some of which he is trying to implement at UCM. o Extra Tree Leslie Bayless will get the tree planted next week. o Budget Request Jay Raveill will attend the City Council meeting on June 26, 2017 at 7 pm to make our request. General discussion as to what was spent last year. Jason McCarty will email that information to the board. o Education/Outreach Efforts  Trail around Racehorse Lake at Pertle Springs map General discussion.   Tree Health Tour Jay Raviell reports it is scheduled for June 27th at 9 am at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Leslie Bayless and Jason McCarty indicated that they would be attending. General discussion. o Other  Mulberry Tree Leslie Bayless reported that she has made some inquirys at the Johnson County Historical Society and the Daily Star Journal archives in Columbia but nothing new to report at this time.  Earth Day/Arbor Day event Trish Smith passed around a nice letter from the CEA thanking us for taking part in their Earth Day event and a photo from the Daily Star Journal of the winner of the Prairie Fire Crabapple tree that we raffled off as part of our Arbor Day celebration at the event.  Tree Board Member Handbook Trish Smith inquired who had the templet of the Handbook as we need one for our new member, Christian Cutler. Jason McCarty said he would like one as well. Leslie Bayless will check on that and hope to have them at the next meeting.  July Meeting Leslie Bayless advised that she will not be able to attend the July meeting. Trish Smith also indicated that may have a conflict for that date. General discussion. Trish Smith moved to change the July Tree Board meeting to July 20. Kevin Courtwright seconded. Motion approved 4-0. · Next Meeting Date: Next meeting date is set for July 20, 2017. · Adjourn: Jay Raveill moved to close the meeting, Trish Smith seconded. Approved 4-0.
