WARRENSBURG TREE BOARD BOARD MINUTES February 22, 2018 The Warrensburg Tree Board met in regular session on February 22, 2018 at the Warrensburg Community Center, 445 E. Gay St. The meeting was called to order by Suzy Latare at 4:15 pm. Members in attendance: Suzy Latare, Leslie Bayless and Jay Raveill. Others in attendance: Jason McCarty and Danielle Fesler  Agenda: Leslie Bayless moved to approve the agenda. Jay Raveill seconded. Approved 3-0.  Minutes: Jay Raveill moved to approve the January 25th minutes. Leslie Bayless seconded. Approved 3-0.  Discussion Items  TRIM Grant Update 2017 Jason McCarty believes all the trees are down but no stump grinding yet. He will talk to Kevin Campbell and check the status.  TRIM Grant 2018 Suzy Latare advised that according to Chuck Conner, we will not need to re-inventory the trees for a long time. General discussion about the current inventory and how best to keep it updated. Jason McCarty will find out WHO may be doing that at the city now. He also advised that he is working on a list of possible trees for removal and plans to have the 2018 TRIM Grant to Chuck Conner by May 4th and then to the State by June 2nd.  Education/Outreach efforts o Press Releases Suzy Latare reported that press releases were sent for the Arbor Day Event and for the Forest ReLeaf of MO project with Rotary Club. o KOKO Radio Spot Suzy Latare will find out the slot for Parks and Recreation to see if we can join them to talk about the TRIM Grant and upcoming events. o Earth Day Scheduled for April 21 at the Mitchell Street Farm. General discussion and tabled until the March meeting. o Arbor Day Scheduled for April 7th from 10:30 to 11:30 at Trails Regional Library. Library personnel will read one or two books about trees plus provide a craft of some kind. Suzy Latare confirmed we will have tree seedlings to give away and she is working on a flyer. Danielle Fesler advised that we could put our flyer on the television in the lobby at Parks and Recreation for everyone to see. Leslie Bayless announced that she has  located a Smokey the Bear costume and some pamphlets from MDC suitable for children. She is also working on the Arbor Day Proclamation. Children will be encouraged to dress like a tree or a critter that lives in a tree! o Forest ReLeaf of Missouri Suzy Latare advised that Ms. Orr from Rotary Club has asked for help in picking out trees to order. General discussion and went through the list of trees available. Suzy will provide our recommendations to the Rotary Club.  Other Business  MCFC Conference Jason McCarty advised that the early bird registration was extended and he forwarded that information to Kevin Courtwright as he was planning to attend.  Tree Board Budget General discussion about changes in amounts and line items.  Next Meeting Date: March 22, 2018  Adjourn: Leslie Bayless moved to adjourn the meeting, Jay Raveill seconded.
