WARRENSBURG TREE BOARD BOARD MINUTES March 22, 2018 The Warrensburg Tree Board met in regular session on March 22, 2018 at the Warrensburg Community Center, 445 E. Gay St. The meeting was called to order by Suzy Latare at 4:31 pm. Members in attendance: Suzy Latare, Leslie Bayless and Jay Raveill. Others in attendance: Jason McCarty and Danielle Fesler  Agenda: Leslie Bayless moved to approve the agenda with two additions: (1) replacing a Tree Board Member and (2) Tree Care 101 brochures. Jay Raveill seconded. Approved 3-0.  Minutes: Jay Raveill moved to approve the February 22nd minutes. Leslie Bayless seconded. Approved 3-0.  Discussion Items  TRIM Grant Update 2017 Jason McCarty reports that the tree removal work is done, Kevin Campbell is paid and the check is cleared. He had been waiting on the check to clear before finishing up the closing documents so that will be done soon.  TRIM Grant 2018 Jason McCarty advised that he is working on a list of possible trees for removal now.  Education/Outreach efforts o Forest ReLeaf of Missouri Suzy Latare advises that the trees will be picked up on Monday, with distribution set for Tuesday from 8-10 am behind the West View Shopping Center. Everyone needs to confirm their planting site locations and tree selections. We will keep in touch by email as trees are spoken for. o KOKO Radio Spot Suzy Latare is planning to do this but they had to change the date so not sure when. She is trying to coordinate with someone from Rotary to go with her. o Arbor Day Scheduled for April 7th at Trails Regional Library at 10:30 am. Suzy Latare handed out a flyer promoting the event and confirmed she will purchase the snacks. Leslie Bayless reports that she will have the Smokey the Bear costume as well as some handouts for the kids. (We need someone with wear the costume!) She also will have the Arbor Day Proclamation signed by the mayor and hopefully the mayor will be there to read it. Leslie and Jay will arrive early to set things up.  o Earth Day Leslie Bayless will contact the CEA to reserve a table and passed out the inventory list for the Tree Board Box so everyone will know what handouts are available. Suzy Latare will pick up the display rack from City Hall for the event and she and Leslie will get together on April 4th to prepare handouts for both Arbor Day and Earth Day. o Tree Care 101 Brochure Leslie Bayless reports that we have permission from Lowes to put our brochures in a weather-proof box and attach to a display rack near the trees for sale. We cannot attach anything to the trees themselves because they do not belong to the store, but rather to a vendor. She will contact Ace Hardware to see if we can do something similar there. Jason McCarty will get 100 more brochures printed and leave at the front desk for pick up.  Other Business  Tree Board Budget Tabled to next meeting  New Board member: Christian Cutler does not have the time to devote to the Warrensburg Tree Board and asked to be replaced. Everyone needs to put the word out and advised to fill out the application on line.  Suzy Latare announced there is a Sustainable Mall event on April 19th from 10:30 to 2:30 outside the UCM Student Union on the east side if anyone is interesting in attending that.  Next Meeting Date: April 26, 2018  Adjourn: Leslie Bayless moved to adjourn the meeting, Jay Raveill seconded.
