A meeting of the Warrensburg Convention and Visitors Bureau was held by Zoom on Thursday,
February 15, 2024, at 10:05 a.m. with Treasurer Diane Whitworth presiding.
Roll was called as follows:
Present: Kelly Brooks, Ginny McTighe, Diane Thompson and Diane Whitworth; and exofficio member
Jim Kushner
Absent: JonAllen Cocumelli, Tom Koenigsfeld, and Dana Phelps; exofficio members Chris Deal and
Danielle Dulin
The adoption of the agenda was considered. Brooks made a motion to adopt the agenda as presented.
The motion was seconded by McTighe. Motion passed.
Minutes of the February 15, 2024, WCVB Board meeting were considered. McTighe made a motion to
approve the meeting minutes as presented. The motion was seconded by Whitworth. Motion passed.
Financial report* was provided by the WCVB Director.
FY 2023-2024
As of March 11, 2024, $599,750 revenue has been collected.
As of March 11, 2024, $135,520 expenses have been incurred.
Journal Entries for December, January and February tax collections and grant reimbursement have not
been posted.
Journal Entries for December and January personnel expenses have not been posted.

The WCVB Director presented the revised application for the Johnson County Cancer Foundation Golf
Tournament. Additional information was learned following the approval in November. The Foundation
hosts two tournaments during the weekend. The director recommended the Board approve the revised
sports grant award amount for JCCF to $2,000. Brooks made a motion to approve the revised award for
the Foundation to $2,000 from $1,500 originally awarded. The motion was seconded by Whitworth.
Motion passed.
The WCVB Director presented the Wings Over Whiteman sponsorship package. The event is expected
to bring in approximately 80,000 visitors for the two-day event July 13-14, 2024. The director
recommended the Board approve the sponsorship for $5,000. McTighe made a motion to approve the
sponsorship for Wings Over Whiteman for $5,000. The motion was seconded by Thompson. Motion
passed.
The WCVB Director presented the West Central Missouri Veterans Assistance League’s application for
the sponsorship of the American Veterans Traveling Tribute Exhibit at the Missouri Veterans Home in
Warrensburg August 18-20, 2024. The Wall will arrive August 17, 2024. The director recommended the
Board approve the sponsorship of $2,000 for the event.
The WCVB Director provided an update on the community support program. A total of $7,500 had been
awarded as of the meeting date. The last application review period is Friday, April 26, 2024. An update
on the grants awarded by the Missouri Division of Tourism was provided.
The WCVB Director provided an update on the WCVB’s Strategic Plan. The plan will be updated by the
Board in 2024. An agreement was entered into with Tracy Kimberlin and Kathleen O’Dell for $5,000 to
assist with consultant services throughout the project.
The WCVB Director provided an update on the Warrensburg Visitors Center. Security cameras have
been installed. Visitor data is being recorded. In February we averaged 3 visitors per day. The Visitor
Center Manager position is in the hiring process. Interviews are being scheduled. We hope to have an
individual in the position in April 2024.
The WCVB Director provided the Director’s Report. The director discussed upcoming events; past
events; important dates for the Visitor Center; and projects the WCVB is currently working on. The
trademark application has been submitted by Hovey Williams LLP.
City of Warrensburg Mayor Jim Kushner provided an update on behalf of the City of Warrensburg.
