Warrensburg Convention & Visitors Bureau Marketing Committee Meeting Notes 9 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2024 Via Zoom A meeting of the Warrensburg Convention and Visitors Bureau Marketing Committee was held via Zoom on Wednesday, October 14, 2024, at 9:07 a.m. Roll was called as follows: Present: Kelsey Lee (joined 9:10 a.m.), Dana Phelps and Diane Thompson; Absent Cody Jolliff The adoption of the agenda was considered. Phelps made a motion to adopt the agenda as presented. The motion was seconded by Thompson. Motion passed. The appointment of a committee chair was discussed. Kelsey Lee agreed to serve. Lee was nominated by Thompson. Phelps seconded the motion. Motion carried. The committee discussed having a short-term rental owner join the committee. The WCVB Director will present names of owners who are interested in serving at a future meeting. The WCVB Director provided an overview of the organization’s current advertising efforts. The committee discussed the items identified in the WCVB Strategic Plan. The WCVB Director will work on a draft of the Request for Proposals for the Visitor Profile Study to be conducted in 2025. A draft will be presented to the Committee prior to being posted. The cost of the study is included in the 2024-2025 WCVB Budget. The WCVB Director proposed waiting on the VisitWarrensburg.com redesign so it can be incorporated into the Missouri Division of Tourism Marketing Platform Development Grant. The application would be due May 2025. The work would need to be conducted July 2025-June 2026, if approved. The grant is a 50/50 reimbursement, matching grant with a maximum award of $10,000. The WCVB Director discussed the visitor guide. Minor revisions would be made to guide distributed in 2025 with the goal to do a complete redesign for 2026. The 2025 would be a limited printing. The WCVB Director will work with those organizations in the area to create a facility inventory list. A concentrated effort to market facilities will be incorporated into the 2025-2026 marketing plan. A future meeting will be scheduled to review the draft of the RFP for the Visitor Profile Study. The WCVB Director will invite McDaniels Marketing to attend a future meeting to discuss the advertising efforts being done through the Missouri Division of Tourism Marketing Matching Grant.
