White Jr., Chair of the Committee on Government Operations and Facilities, and Councilmember Kenyan R. McDuffie, Chair of the Committee on Business and Economic Development, will hold a public hearing on B24-0294, the “Wilkinson School Disposition Authorization Act of 2021”. The public hearing will take place via the Zoom web conferencing platform at 12:00 PM. Members of the public will be able to view the joint public hearing online at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPJZbHhKFbnyGeQclJxQk0g/live. The stated purpose of B24-0294, the “Wilkinson School Disposition Authorization Act of 2021”, is to approve the disposition of District-owned rea property located at 2330 Pomeroy Road, S.E., Washington, D.C., commonly known as the Wilkinson School and known for real property taxation and assessment purposes as Square 5828, Lot 0806. The Committees invite the public to testify remotely or to submit written testimony. Anyone wishing to testify must sign up in advance at https://forms.gle/UrkjAKXjGWaPaQuD8 or by phone at (202) 741-8593, and provide their name, phone number or e-mail, organizational affiliation, title (if any), and personal pronouns by the close of business on Thursday, July 8th, 2021. Witnesses are encouraged, but not required, to submit their testimony in writing electronically in advance to facilities@dccouncil.us. Witnesses will participate remotely via Zoom. The Committees will follow up with witnesses in advance of the hearing with additional instructions on how to provide testimony. The John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. Washington, DC 20004 All public witnesses will be allowed a maximum of four minutes to testify, while Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners will be permitted five minutes to testify. At the discretion of the Chairs, the length of time provided for oral testimony may be reduced. Witnesses who anticipate needing language interpretation, or require sign language interpretation, are requested to inform the Committees of the need as soon as possible but no later than five (5) business days before the proceeding. We will make every effort to fulfill timely requests, however requests received in less than five (5) business days may not be fulfilled and alternatives may be offered. The Committees also encourages the public to submit written testimony to be included for the public record. Copies of written testimony should be submitted by e-mail to facilities@dccouncil.us.
