The hearing will be held on Wednesday October 9, 2024, 9:30a.m., hybrid in Room 500 of the John A. Wilson Building, and Virtual via Zoom. The stated purpose of B25-0690 is to require public schools and public charter schools to have a minimum of 30 hours per week of nursing coverage during the school year and summer school. It requires a deadline for new schools to request nursing services from DC Health to ensure efficient budgeting and planning. DC Health is required to provide technical assistance to schools not participating in the DC Health School Health Services Program and is to collect and publish data on school nursing service coverage. The stated purpose of B25-0948 is to strengthen and modernize the process through which a new institutional health service, or capital expenditure related to an existing medical/health asset, obtains a Certificate of Need (CON) from the State Health Planning and Development Agency (SHPDA) within DC Health. Witnesses may appear either in-person or virtually using the Zoom platform. Unless otherwise stated in pre-hearing instructions, witnesses will have 5 minutes to speak if they are representing an organization, and 3 minutes if they are speaking for themselves. The public should sign up at https://lims.dccouncil.gov/Hearings by 5pm on Monday, October 7, 2024. Witnesses who anticipate needing spoken language interpretation, or require sign language interpretation, are requested to inform the Committee office of the need as soon as possible but no later than five business days before the proceeding. We will make every effort to fulfill timely requests, although alternatives may be offered. Requests received in less than five business days may not be fulfilled.
